Every year we say we aren't going to make so much....but.....so far the list hasn't gotten any smaller.

This year:

Turkey
Ham
Dressing
Chicken & dumplings
Corn
Peas
Green Beans
Yams
Mashed potatoes
Macaroni Salad
Potato Salad
Broccoli orange salad
Brown Gravy
Cranberry sauce
Rolls

Pecan pie
Pumpkin pie
Nestle tollhouse pie
Marbled cheese cake
Hot fudge pie
cupcakes
brownies

We always have a small army to feed. My sister and I shopped Sunday for everything and will do lots of prep tonight.

So what's on your menu?

Our menu is not exactly traditional this year. There is only 4 of us so we decided to do appetizers.

We are having:
Carrot Soup
Pigs in a blanket
Turkey Burger Sliders with cranberry relish
Sweet potato fries
Mozzarella sticks
Shrimp
Swiss and Bacon dip with crackers
veggie tray and dip

for dessert: Apple Pie

Ya'lls menus are making me hungry!

My mom's menu isn't the traditional one for the first time ever. We're having this for lunch:
Grilled Marinated Steak
Garlic Butter Shrimp w/ cocktail-horseradish sauce
Mac & Cheese
Potato Skins
Squash Casserole
Cranberry Salad
Deviled Eggs
Fall Salad (romaine, spinach, crumbly cheese, nuts, cranberries, red onion, pears)
Various cooked fresh veggies- I think collards & corn maybe
Yeast Rolls
Chocolate Pie
Iced Tea
Cranberry Sierra Mist- gotta try it, awesome!

At dinner, we are going to dh's cousins house for his side of the family which will probably be traditional less ham or pork products. I'm making a cranberry-orange sauce and bringing a store bought pumpkin pie for that.

Ill be right over:thumbsup2

We will have plenty.:thumbsup2

Though I don't care for about 1/2 the items on the menu......some of the rest of the family does so cook, cook, cook. I could do without the yams, green beans, potato salad, macaroni salad and cranberry sauce. Also not a fan of pumpkin pie.

It is great seeing the variations in what people are having for Thanksgivng.

We start first thing in the morning with a breakfast casserole (made the night before so all I have to do is bake it).

Then the four of us have a very traditional dinner:

Turkey
Stuffing
Cranberry Sauce
Mashed Potatoes and gravy
Rolls
Corn Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Relish Tray

Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie for dessert

Wow! That's a ton of food for the four of us! I guess I know what we will be eating until we leave for WDW on Dec. 2. :rotfl:

We are doing a non-traditional T'giving meal with one of DD's best friends and her mom and dad (we are both far from our extended families). The menu will be:

Appetizers:
-homemade bruschetta with crackers and french bread
-artichoke & spinach dip
-veggies and dip
-bacon and cheese dip

Dinner:
-homemade pizzas- we are going to do individual ones that everyone will top themselves with a big variety of toppings, both traditional and gourmet
-salad

Dessert:
-berry pie
-peanut butter pie

We will spend the day hanging out, eating, playing the Wii and board games, watching the latest Star Trek movie, and just having a relaxed fun time.

I'm cutting back on my meal also by not having salad so I'm having
Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Corn
Brussell sprouts
Artichoke Casserole
Celery stuffed with cream cheese
Anise (its like celery you dip it in oil~I don't like it by my DH does)
Bread
Pumpkin pie
Cherry pie
so see I really don't need the salad lol!!!

4 adults and 6 kids this year...3 of them teenage boys!

Turkey
Stuffing
mashed potatoes
gravy
sweet potatoes
stir fried green beans
pickle and olive tray
biscuits
cornbread
strawberries and pineapple
jello fluff salad stuff
pumpkin pie
chocolate pie
peach pie

(maybe asparagus and maybe stuffed mushrooms)

Wait I forgot to add cranberry sauce and chestnuts. I always forget those 2 things

Thanksgiving is just the four of us.

-turkey
-mashed potatoes
-stuffing (Stove Top!)
-gravy
-cranberry sauce (2 kinds. The kind that slides from a can for the kids and one made with real cranberries for me & dh)
-green bean casserole (I don't care for it, but dh and ds love it)
-biscuits
-deviled eggs

-pumpkin ring cake
-pumpkin mousse pie

We eat at an odd time on Thanksgiving Day, usually between 2:00 and 4:00, depending upon when the turkey is ready. Instead of a normal lunch that day, we'll eat finger foods (veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, fruit and dip, etc.) in front of the TV while watching the Macy's Day Parade.

I made the desserts, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and tortilla wrap-ups (part of the Macy's Parade finger food) today. We'll do the rest tomorrow. Dh is in charge of the turkey plus peels the potatoes and I do the rest.
