Okay, so I did not heed Tour Guide Mike's advice about calling as soon as possible for ADR and now I must deal with the consequences.

I finally got around to calling for Thanksgiving week and got everything I wanted except for Thanksgiving day! :(

I wanted WCC, but it is booked for lunch & dinner. arg. Rather than wade through the books & other sites, I thought maybe people here would have some suggestions for me. :confused3

So, any suggestions for Thanksgiving dining? We are a family of 6, using the dining plan.

Thank you for any help. :) :)

I loved our Thanksgiving dinner at AP, right next to WCC. They have a limited menu for Thanksgiving, only 3 choices for appetizer, main course, and dessert. Great food, service, atmosphere.

We are eating at HDDR for Thanksgiving. DH said he didn't care whether he had traditional or not.

I made my ADRs at 180 days out and the only problem I had was for LeCellier on that Friday. I had to take an 8:30pm ADR. I'm hoping to get CP with a 4:30 ressie for the 6:45 show.

We are trying "Thanksgiving at the Fort" this year, which I think is Mickey's Backyard BBQ redone for Thanksgiving at the Fort Wilderness camp ground. A few years ago we did the Brown Derby at MGM, and it was very nice!

We did Thanksgiving at the Fort last year and LOVED it!

Food was good (not gourmet, but good for a buffet, all the traditional dishes), open bar with beer and wine (suprisingly not bad for wine-in-a-box). Character interaction was excellent - we got some great video of DD dancing with Chip & Dale, and Mickey and Minnie and Pluto were there too. I had read horrible reviews of the characters getting mobbed by unruly hoodlums, I mean kids, but our experience was wonderful - plenty of character time, handles stayed in the background, but managed the crowds well. Country-western band was cute. DD really enjoyed the fix your own dessert, and it was neat to get a family portrait in that setting.

Our reservation was for the middle of the afternoon (like 2 pm), and while it was full, it wasn't jam-packed. I'd definitely do this again on another holiday trip. In fact, the joke in our family was that I finally got to have Turkey with people I liked for a change - Mickey, Minnie and the gang ;)

Another tip: we made this our non-park day, and boy were we glad we did after talking with other resort guests who braved the crowds! DD and I let DH/DS sleep in and went to the POFQ pool (we were staying at POR). He and the baby took the boat down and joined us for a little while, then we went back to the room to get ready for The Fort. After lunch/dinner, we resort-hopped to look at decorations and then ended up at DTD for a photo of the kids with Santa. Finished off the evening with a late salad at Wolfgang Puck Express. Very enjoyable, not too hectic.

Earliest opening for the CP last night was 7:45. We grabbed it. Most places offering traditional Thanksgiving meals are pretty much booked up.

We are doing Thanksgiving dinner at Chef Mickey's. We arrive Thanksgiving mornining so it just seems fitting to have our Thanksgiving Dinner with Mickey himself!! :thumbsup2

We did Brown Derby with 9 people--I think we had a 1:30 reservation...they have a traditional meal that about half of us ate, and it was delicious! It's a little fancier than the other restaurants, so if you're looking for something a bit more relaxed, this probably isn't it. But Liberty Tree Tavern also does a traditional meal in the MK that could be open.

mumto2, thanks for the review of Thanksgiving at the Fort. I am really looking forward to it, now.

Jusacuz, where are you from in Northern Idaho? I grew up in Coeur d'Alene. Really miss it!

I live in Post Falls & also grew up in Coeur d'Alene. :)

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I managed to get a ressie at Trail's End. It looks like it can withstand 4 picky kids. lol.

I just booked at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. The reservation was only for two people but I was offered 6:00 right away. I actually had to request a later seating time of 8:00. Looks like they will at least have carved turkey and cranberry sauce on the buffet.

I called yesterday (6/29) and booked LTT for Thanksgiving Dinner. The earliest time they had available was 8:10 pm. It will just be me and DH so we don't mind if it's a little later.
