hello all! I'm new here to the forums and had a quick question...

my bf has bought me tickets to disneyland for our anniversary and we wanted to go on thanksgiving... we were wondering if they do a thanksgiving day parade there like they do in WDW? i haven't seen anything online about it and haven't had a chance to call down there and ask (i'm a crazy busy full time college student/full time worker) myself... sooo i thought this might be easier for me since i am on the comp more than i am around a phone :)

if they don't have parade that day is it still super busy? i've never been for thanksgiving and would really like to go and check it out :)

They will have thier normal Holiday parade that day, but if your thinking about the "filmed" parade, that was done last week sometime.

what do you mean by the filmed one? so they don't have a thanksgiving day parade? :( i'm not worried about it being filmed lol we just wanted to celebrate our anniversary and this year it happen to fall on turkey day

No, you're totally misunderstanding. They film the Disney Holiday Parade at DLR, but they did that last week sometime. On Thanksgiving Day they will have the regular holiday parade. And yes, it's going to be busy.....we will be there too but we are anticipating huge crowds all weekend. :)

lol i'm so confused.

so holiday parade as in the christmas one or thanksgiving day with tom the turkey and santa at the end parade? lol. or both?

Its not a Thanksgiving parade but the Holiday Parade that is every year just celebrating the Holidays....I have never seen a Tom Turkey at DL:lmao:

We have eaten at Goofy's Kitchen for Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it...I am not sure if there is a place that will serve traditional turkey dinner in the park but Goofy's is always Delicious!

Have a great time...dont forget to mention that its your anniversary at Town Hall on Main Street to get your Anniversary Pins....Its always fun! We wore ours in June for our 25th and was recognized wherever we went...even scored us a free dessert:yay::yay:

It's the same parade, it starts on Nov 13 (TODAY) and runs thru Jan 3rd. They don't change the parade for Turkey Day or Christmas.

I disagree slightly. We went Thanksgiving last year, and I specifically remember a "Tom Turkey" in the parade we saw late morning / early afternoon. In fact, it was the turkey that was pardoned by the President (a live turkey). In addition, we have photos of Mickey dressed in a pilgrim outfit. This was specific to Thanksgiving.

As a side note, we already bought tickets and heading there again this year....

:worship:OOPS! My mistake...we have not been in a couple of years at THANKSGIVING thanks for the correction!!

Have an awesome trip!!

Really? I knew they had the turkey but not that they had him in the parade. The turkey lives in the petting zoo area, we walk past there quite regularly. :) I've never been on Tgiving so the turkey in the parade is new to me too. I always heard it was the same parade. Hope we get to see a turkey in a couple weeks! :)

They will have a parade, and it will be the normal Holiday Parade. We were there several years ago for the entire weekend. One would think this would be a very slow day in the parks. Think again. We made reservations at the Jazz Kitchen and had to make them six months in advance. Thursday was one of the busiest we had ever seen, including the year we were there on July 4th. Expect large crowds and long lines. Take full advatange of FastPass.

So jealous that you get to spend Thanksgiving in DL! I would love to be able to go on Turkey Day! Unfortunately, I don't think the family would ever forgive DBF and me for missing out on festivities...

Have a Dole Whip for me! Seems like a traditional Thanksgiving treat :thumbsup2

REally? 6 months? That's odd, I called them last month and asked about Thanksgiving dinner, they said they don't have the menu up yet and don't take any type of reservations until they do decide on the menu. They told me to check back 2 weeks prior to Tgiving and to make my ressie then. I just made our ressies for 2:30 a week ago today and I had no problems making it, they had the whole day basically open......

I don't know about 6 months, but I originally made a dinner reservation on 10/26 for Jazz Kitchen...that's when they opened the window for Thanksgiving Day reservations...I have since cancelled them because we are attending the Princess/Frog movie screening at the Burbank Disney Studios...now I gotta find a place to eat in BURBANk for Thanksgiving!!!

Well that's even odder, because they day you made yours was the day I called and was told to call back later.....oh well, I got them anyway so no complaints from me. :) Enjoy the movie screening!
