Thanksgiving family meal?

Hello! Super excited to be planning a trip in November! We're going at the same time as some extended family, and while we don't plan to eat every meal together, we definitely want to eat Thanksgiving dinner together.

Group of 14 total including 8 kids ranging from 1-16. Would like to go somewhere both adults and kids will like. We'd like to be able to have traditional Thanksgiving food, but due to some picky eaters, was thinking maybe a buffet?

I've never been at Thanksgiving, but I have been on Christmas Day and remember there being some special items at Chef Mickey's? Also, was thinking eating around 2 or 3...would special dinner items be available that early?

Anyone have any suggestions or experience to share? Thanks! :earsboy:

We do this same thing each year. I would highly suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. They change the skillet to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, it's very good and AYCE. Plus they do fun things for the kids. They will start serving around 1130 am, so 1 or 2 will be fine. Most every restaurant on property does a thanksgiving type dinner and will start serving that around noon just FYI.

I think most of the larger restaurants also have some form of Thanksgiving dinner. Some better than others.

We have done BOMA twice now...and loved it both times! They have traditional food plus a variety of other non-traditional foods.

One of my plates Thanksgiving 2016:

And dessert:

NOTE: I believe Boma will not ADVERTISE that they are listed as one of the WDW Restaurants serving Thanksgiving Dinner...but we've been twice now and they always have carved turkey! It has been a delicious meal for all of us both times!

Another option would be Biergarten. Fun and easily accommodates large groups. Plus the kids can get up and run around and dance on the dance floor. They already have some Thanksgiving Day-ish items in the buffet. Not sure if they add anything special for Thanksgiving.

They do add things for Thanksgiving as we've had our "day after Thanksgiving" lunch here. And, well, we were disappointed because we did NOT want Thanksgiving stuff and there was too much turkey and stuffing on there. This is the place I would recommend but realize that the party will be split up since the tables only seat eight. But, for a party of 14, they would more than likely get two tables next to each other.

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm kind of hoping to do Biergarten as part of the Candlelight Processional package. Loved the photo of the dessert plate at Boma.
