We are staying at OKW in 2brm and planning to cook a turkey there, however we are concerned about buying a frozen one vs a fresh one , having time to thaw it out since we arrive on tuesday by plane.
Wondering if anyone has information for ordering fresh turkeys in the area.
Thanks:confused:

the local Publix has both - so I am assuming the ones in Orlando do too...

I am getting a frozen one - but we are arriving on Saturday -

can't wait!!!!

you can use hot water to unfreeze on a little faster - also the mircowave

or you only get the breast.....

we are doing a publix takeout. all the fixins and the bird cooked and ready to pick up an hour before dinner. all we do is eat and clean up. i think they are even carving it for us. we are driving in from jersey that day. so it's too much to cook too. i hear they also have pre-cooked turkeys to heat up as well. if you're cooking one from scratch, you had better start thawing when you arrive. have a nice dinner!

We picked up a turkey and the fixings at Goodings a few years ago for Christmas. We picked it up on Christmas Eve. We ordered it over the internet. It was completely cooked, but we had to heat it up. It still took about 5 hours to completely heat it through. It was heat sealed in plastic to preserve it. Had to cut off the plastic before heating it up.

You should be able to buy a Butterball Fresh turkey at any major supermarket. Or as others mentioned buying one already prepared. Thawing info below.

Quote: The experts recommend refrigerator thawing. However, if you are short on time and need a quicker method for thawing, submerge the turkey in cold water. Thawing turkey at room temperature allows bacterial growth and is not recommended.
