Thanksgiving discount at Swan/Dolphin?

I've been checking the rates for Thanksgiving week and so far the Teacher's discount is $188 for 11/23-11/26, and $229 for 11/27. I've never stayed at the Dolphin, but was planning on trying it this year for our Thanksgiving trip since I've heard that they offer such great discounts. My question is this - can I expect there to be a deeper discount closer to time for trip, or is what they're showing now it? I'm thinking that I could stay with our usual WL ressie for about the same thing without a discount, and then if a discount becomes available there it would actually be cheaper. Any ideas? Thanks!

We went for Thanksgiving this year, just a long weekend, and stayed at the Swan. We got $161. It was an annual pass discount.

I think we paid about $135/night. I found it on the starwood site closer to our trip...internet only/no changes allowed. I booked standard but our room was resort view with balcony.

We are hoping for a good rate at the Dolphin also for Thanksgiving week 2005. I think we just need to keep looking. Right now I have us in POFQ with a AAA rate. I am hoping to be able to upgrade to the S/D or AKL when discounts come out for that time frame.

Dont know when your exact dates are but I do know that starting Nov. 28 the swan and dolphin are hosting a huge conference with like 4,000 people expected. We will probably fly in the week end etc. so I would ask about this. The registration starts in august, but it could get crowded if you are leaving after the 27th.

We stayed at the Swan on Nov.26th & 27th of 2004 for a AAA rate of $149.00. We liked the Dolphin better but wanted to try the out Swan. There wasn't anything wrong with our stay but at the Dolphin you get tubbies and their guest services dept. is open on the weekends as the Swans was closed. I needed to send some things home and wanted to use the internet for online check-in for my airline.
