Since I've waited too long to make a ressie for Thanksgiving dinner we may end up eating in our villa at OKW. Does anyone know if food stores in the area offer prepared turkey and trimming dinners?

I've ordered the Publix meal a few times for Christmas and personalized it with our sausage stuffing (theirs has cornbread stuffing) and our own sweet potato recipe and green bean recipe too. I've called the deli from home and picked it up at the store.

Wish you and your family a great holiday.
make sire to check with downtoan disney spots,
some offer a thanksgiving meal that is not yet announced

If you still want to eat out try the Swan and Dolphin. We went a few years ago and they had all the characters there. It was a buffet and huge. We were able to get reservations only a few weeks prior to Thanksgiving. It was all day so I would imagine they could get a lot of folks through. It was in the grand ball room and probably set around 500 folks. Good luck!

we did the villa dinner & it was actually very nice compared to eating at the restaurants. we each also ate our favorite desserts. then we relaxed by the pool & went to wishes in the evening. another time we tried tusker house & that was also good & i believe they still have availability. either way, may your family enjoy the holiday together. :mickeybar

One year we got the Thanksgiving Dinner from Winn Dixie. Personally, I would not recommend Winn Dixie as the quality was poor.

The local Whole Foods here in Atlanta does a Thanksgiving meal spread, so I'm sure the one in Orlando does too, and if the website mentioned by a previous poster can deliver it to you, that sounds like a great way to go.

Personally, that sounds more fun than using WDW transportation to get to a restaurant ... I've always considered the 2nd best part of the Thanksgiving meal to be raiding the fridge a few hours later, but restaurants tend to frown on that sort of behaviour. (The best part is whichever family members and friends I'm able to be with that year, but really - leftovers are close to the top of the list!)

Oh, and I grew up in Florida. Winn Dixie hasn't been that nice since the mid 80's - I completely agree with the previous poster that you should skip getting a meal from there.

We have done the Publix turkey meal for Christmas, and it was great. Everything was good, price was reasonable. We added some of our favorite side dishes and we had a really nice holiday meal.

I would not hesitate to order this meal again. :goodvibes

We ordered just the turkey (fully cooked) from Publix. I made stuffing from a box, creamed spinach (again, boxed!), sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes (orida frozen potatoes) and dinner rolls. I love to cook and make most if not everything from scratch. I hate prepared boxed food but gave in for the convenience of eating in our villa. It was all very tasty and more importantly fun and relaxing!

If you decide to make homemade mashed potatoes, bring a masher--the villa does not stock one!
