Thanksgiving Dinner?

I know its early, but what is everyone's thoughts on where to have a special Thanksgiving Dinner when your at WDW. Would you choose a restaurant at a Park or at a Resort?

We stay at the resort all day on Thanksgiving, we like to avoid the parks. We make it a pool day or just a resort day. This past Thanksgiving we did Cape May Cafe breakfast at 8:30, then had a YC/BC photo shoot at 10am. We spent the day wandering around in the arcades, shopping, boardwalk etc.. Then dinner at Yachtsmen's Steakhouse.

That's just us. We don't venture into the parks on Thanksgiving Day. They tend to reach capacity and have several closings throughout the day. I wouldn't chance an ADR in a park unless you plan to be there from Rope Drop.

We did Thanksgiving at the Fort at Fort Wilderness this past year - it was a lot of fun and very tasty. I would definitely do it again if we were to ever go for Thanksgiving again.

We went to 1900 Park Fare for Thanksgiving dinner 2008. Everyone LOVED it! The food was excellent, and they had traditional thanksgiving fare, as well as other items. Tons of great desserts. Plus Cinderella & stepsisters were hilarious. We would definitely go back there.

We had Thanksgiving dinner 2006 at Boma! It was very good and my Husband and son were glad they had the traditional turkey with trimmings.
By the way we spent the day at the Animal Kingdom and it was packed!

Personally, I would want to have Thanksgiving dinner at one of the most sumptuous restaurants possible... I've never been but I'll bet V&A would be incredible for Thanksgiving. Citrico's would also be really nice!
I'd love to see what Jiko had on the menu for TG too!

The 2 TS restaurants all serve prefixed meals on Thanksgiving Day. One or two of their standard menu options are usually available, it's not a full menu.

We always do EPCOT on Thanksgiving day so you choices are pretty wide. We have tried Coral Reef and that was a huge mistake. We waited 2 hours for our ADR and then the food was awful. Then we missed Iluminations which just left a worst taste in our mouths so to speak. Honestly we usually just have a burger at the American Pavilion. We ususally have our Thanksgiving meal earlier in the week at Liberty Tree at MK. Our kids have never really minded not have a real Thanksgiving meal on that day. You will love being there that week. It is crowded but not as bad as the summer time, it is definately doable if you use FP wisely. We have never experienced "at Capacity" during Tgiving. Have a great trip!

2 Years ago we did Biergarten for Thanksgiving. We tried getting into Liberty Tree Tavern since it's an obvious choice, but it was booked up (which we expected.) Decided since we've got German heritage we'd try Biergarten for Thanksgiving. It was great! They added more "traditional" items to the buffet, and then the normal side dishes on the buffet is what we would have had for our dinner at home anyway! It was nice to be far from home but still have what we normally have.

I suggest if there's a restaurant that represents your heritage, give it a try for Thanksgiving!

We've done Thanksgiving twice at either the Swan or Dolphin- Sorry i can't remember! but i think only one of htem does a thanksgiving buffet.

Anyways- we LOVED it and it basically is set up in their HUGE ballroom and the buffet is like a million feet long. It has all the basic thanksgiving necessities and everything is very tasty- and i'm pretty picky

Also, they have characters set up all around the room in areas for meet and greets and u wait in line for just a few minutes to get pics and stuff, and the characters change in and out throughout the day.
We've seen all the Mickey and gang and Lilo and stitch and some others there as well.
I'm sorry I can't remember more details!

We have never experienced "at Capacity" during Tgiving.

MK hits capacity on Tgiving. It did in 08 and 07.

Just a heads up...make your ADR for in the late afternoon/early evening. We booked Coral Reef last year for 7:00 and after not getting seated until 7:45 found out that they had completely run out of their Thanksgiving offerings by 4:00. We were stuck and didn't really like anything else on the menu (and it was a little out of our price range,) but it was 8:00 and we were SO HUNGRY, so we basically spent $70 on a meal we didn't even really want
