We will be in Disney the week of Thanksgiving with my DBL/DSL and their 3 kids. I've been nominated to make all reservations, and I wanted to know the best place to have Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people?

well, I have gone there 2 years in a row for turkey day. MK is very crowded so we try to avoid that all together. One year we had dinner at Rose and Crown in Epcot. very nice. Last year we had dinner at Ohana's. Food was good but it was noisy and I did not like the constant entertainment. We could not hear ourselves talk. Check allears.com they might still have the menus form last year and what places are serving traditional dinner this year

I would advise something out of the parks, perhaps the hotel you are staying in or another resort hotel dining facility. A group of 10 will be difficult and four months out may also be difficult.

Boatwrights at POR might be good. Maya Grill at CS might be possible. Yacht Club Galley might work.

I was there for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. I literally checked in Thanksgiving Day at the Wildrness Lodge and was only able to dine at Whispering Canyon Cafe. It was GREAT!! If you are looking for a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimming including the pumpkin pie then definitely try it. When I go back Thanksgiving 2008 - I will be dining there. You won't have to waste a park ticket if you are avoiding the parks that day and you'll get a great meal and the atmosphere is loads of fun. Good Luck.

Here is the list of places offering special meals for that day: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_thks.htm

I think with a party that large, you may not get your first choice since reservations were open awhile back for that day. I'd make a list of places in order you'd like to eat at them and see what is open at this point.

We are going then too and there arent too many adr's left to be had. I have made numerous calls about various places and there were none - or very late choices. I finally got one at Trails End (which is one of our favorites anyway). We are arriving on thanksgiving day and will be parkless that day anyway. Good luck!!

I was about to make a thread about this very subject.

Me and my Fiancee...who will actually be my WIFE are arriving in WDW on Nov 22nd ourselves, probably looking for dinner around 8pm. We wont be going to any park, so the resorts would probably be our best bet.

Could anyone recommend a place we might want to try? What about Victoria and Alberts? Even if they don't do anything for Thanksgiving, it would sure be a nice first honeymoon meal I bet.

We are going to try Boma, but are a little concerned!:scared1: I made my ADR several weeks ago and not much was available then!:confused3 I have not really been able to find much info on what exactlly Boma wil be serving??? :rotfl2: We would really prefer at least some traditional offerings!:rotfl: I would love to find someone that went last year to advise!:lmao: Also, maybe we should start a thread for anyone cancelling a T'giving ADR!

The Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club Resort.:thumbsup2
My family has spent 2 Thanksgivings there (2004/2006). It is a buffet and the Turkey is hand carved ( the real deal). They also have seafood selection ( peel and eat shrimp/ clams etc.We liked it so much in 04, we knew we wanted to go back in 06. And this past year they were talking walkins ( no ressies) the same time we had our ADR's (around 4:30pm).
It's a very nice resort, nice atmosphere and as another posted suggested, it's not in the parks. I would second that advice and stay out of the parks that day!!!

The Thanksgiving Feast at Liberty Tree Tavern was fantastic during our 2005 MVMCP trip. Huge portions of turkey and all the fixins. It is also a character dinner so you'll have great food and the joy of having the characters around.

Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel usually has a show that showcases this dinner which comes out a few weeks/months before the holidays. I expect it will be coming on within the next several months. Check the Travel Channel online to see if this information is available. The show also has alot of other fantastic ideas and suggestions for other christmas related activities such as christmas decorations at the lodges and events at all 4 parks.

My kids chose the all-you-can-eat Ice Cream Bar at Chef Mickeys last time we were there on T'Day:rotfl2: To be honest, they did eat a bit of the buffet first. Personally, we all agree that a turkey dinner is overrated and can be had before or after our trip, lol. We often travel on the actual holiday and prefer not to deal with crowded restaurants filled with vacationing people looking for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Best T'Day dinner we've had "on the road" was Mythos at US -- it remains unmatched.
