I was just talking with Mom and Dad about the fact that they're going to be in WDW over Thanksgiving week, and the fact that I don't think it's going to work out for me to join them. Double bummer. Missing an opportunity for a free room at Disney and missing being with family at Thanksgiving.
They told me they hadn't made any plans yet for Thanksgiving dinner. Uh oh! I said the end of September may be a little late to try to get an ADR for Thanksgiving day. None of us has any experience at being there that time of year. Is it crowded? Hard to get into the nicer restaurants? Or is it deserted because everyone's at home sitting around grandmother's table?
What are some of the places that offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal? They want to have turkey and the trimmings. They said they may try Liberty Tree Tavern because they knew turkey was on the menu there. (I've also been raving about it since first trying it on our last trip.) But I told them there are most likely many really nice places to get a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day. LTT is really fun, but for Thanksgiving dinner, I thought something a little more upscale might be nicer for them. Does anyone know which restaurants do something special for Thanksgiving? Any suggestions on how to make mom's first Thanksgiving meal away from home (and not cooking for 30 people) as memorable as possible?
