Okay...we have just booked a trip to WDW over Thanksgiving! We had a few days off, so we decided to take advantage of it because it will be our last vacation before our Disney Cruise in May! :goodvibes We will be driving down to WDW on Thanksgiving day, which I hope won't be awful! We are hoping to get there in the early/mid-afternoon. We are trying to decide where to go for our Thanksgiving meal. We aren't going to be going to any theme parks that day, so we need to eat at one of the Resorts. Where should we go? I'd love that "Thanksgiving feeling," so I was thinking maybe Wilderness Lodge. Any ideas? This will be my first Thanksgiving with my DH, since our wedding. :wizard:

The Wilderness Lodge sounds like a great choice, but you should call Disney Dining ASAP because many restaurants will not have availability by now. I think that you will be able to find a nice place to eat, but you may need to be flexible on your choice of restaurant or time. Hope it works out. :thumbsup2

Yes, Wilderness Lodge definitely! We had a wonderful Christmas dinner at Artist Point several years ago, and it continues to be one of our favorite restaurants and resorts. If you are looking for the cozy holiday feel, that will fit the bill. Enjoy.

Did they have "traditional" Christmas food? was it al la carte or set menu? What was the price p/adult?

Why don't you join fellow disers at Ohanna. I noticed from reading the posts that there are alot of us eating Thanksgiving dinner there. Ohana means family so it will be one big happy Disboard family there.

If you have any questions about the cruise in May..pm me as I went in February and LOVED it. I am a veteran cruiser, but that was first time cruising with the mouse and it was the best! :wave2:

My SIL and BIL took a very last minute trip to WDW 2 years ago, and couldn't get into any restaurants except the All Star Cafe on Thanksgiving Day. They both agreed it was the BEST turkey dinner they ever had.

I called and got ADRS for Artist Point!! They only had two times left and of course they were late, so we'll have to find some food to snack on before then. I haven't been to the Wilderness Lodge, since 1998...so I can't wait to go back! I've never eaten at Artisit Point either! :goodvibes I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations again! The only other time I was there was for Christmas.

That's so great that so many Dis'ers will be at 'Ohana! We have eaten there almost every trip! I had my after wedding dinner there and love it!! I'm sorry I'll miss it, but I want that Lodge feel for Thanksgiving day! :thumbsup2

If I remember correctly, it was a set menu of holiday food...similar to what you would find at Thanksgiving. However, you could also order their signautre items like the salmon or the buffalo steak if you did not want the traditional turkey option.

I think the price was in the low $40s per person. Hope that helps.

Here is a link from Deb's site that shows you what restaurants will have holiday offers and/or a la carte offerings as well.

We chose the California Grill for 2:30 and then Spoodles for later that night because we will be staying at the Boardwalk.

I booked Thanksgiving at the Fort last year (it's a whole production for Thanksgiving with activities, a show, etc), but due to car issues had a slight...reduction... in my budget just before then. I had to cancel but still wanted to eat on property (I had to work and wouldnt be able to cook), and all I could get was Trails End. I just have to say it was an AMAZING dinner. They had extra tables with food on them (in addition to the regular buffet), and had a venison stew that was heaven! The ham roast with raisin sauce was also very very good.
