O.k Here goes.

We´ll probably be in Orlando over Thanksgiving and would love to have a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner somewhere. We don´t have thanksgiving here in Iceland so wer are totally new to this but would love to eat what most Americans eat during this holiday.

Any recommendations for a place either in WDW or off-site?

Liberty Tree Tavern serves a "thanksgiving feast" all year long and I think Disney has special menus at other restaurants on holidays.

If you do go to LTT make sure to ask for some cranberry sauce. It's not Thanksgiving without it !

Many of the restaurants will be serving Thanksgiving fare, but I have to agree with the previous poster that the Liberty Tree Tavern will give you the full effect. Having dinner served in a colonial style setting will be a great atmosphere for your first time celebrating this American tradition. :goodvibes

I agree with the others about the Liberty Tree Tavern for Thanksgiving. But make sure you call exactly 180 days because that will be a popular place that day.

Once, though, I made a reservation at the Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom for Thanksgiving Day. They had a full American Thanksgiving meal on their menu. So I ate the traditional meal in the United Kingdom in America that day.

I would say Liberty Tree, they serve turkey, mashed taters, green beans, dressing.. The only thing you will have to try is pumpkin pie, I don't know if they serve it on thanksgiving at Liberty Tree but its a big part of Thanksgiving Dinner..

My vote is for LTT as well. Perfect setting and food for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Hi! I have never been to WDW at Thanksgiving so I can't really give you a suggestion. But I figured that just in case you can't get into everyone's suggestion of LTT, I would post what a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is so you can check the menu's at the other places. I do seem to remember that last year, they had Thanksgiving dinners at many of the restaurants so it shouldn't be a problem. But anyways, here is what a Thanksgiving meal is like (at least up here in the north eastern US):

1) Turkey -> Turkey is the heart of a Thanksgiving dinner!
2) Potatoes -> can be regular (i.e. white) or sweet, also may be served either mashed or baked. My mother would sometimes cook both, sometimes just one type (regular or sweet).
3) Stuffing or dressing (depending upon what term you use) -> this is another Thanksgiving staple. There are many different types. My mother always made a basic bread stuffing with mushrooms and turkey stock.
4) Vegetables -> tends to vary which vegetables are served. We usually have butternut squash but it really tends to vary.
5) Gravy -> You just have to have brown gravy for the turkey, stuffing, potatoes (if they are served mashed)
6) Cranberry Sauce -> personnally, I am not a big fan of cranberry sauce but it is traditional

For dessert, we usually had pumpkin pie and/or apple pie.

Thanks everyone! I guess we´ll book the LTT then :)

The Swan or Dolphin rotate every year, they do an amazing buffet Thanksgiving dinner
