We need help in deciding where to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner outside of Walt Disney World.

There will be 8 of us and we will be spending the first few days of our vacation in the Orlando area, specifically in Altamonte Springs prior to arriving at Disney. Our flight arrives in Orlando on Thanksgiving Day around 3:00 p.m. and we are staying at the Embassy Suites Orlando – North which is located in Altamonte Springs.

So, if any of you have any suggestions, we greatly appreciate any help you can give us!

As always….thank you DIS for all of your help and guidance!

I really don't know where outside of Disney but quite a few years back we did Thanksgiving Diner at 'Ohana, it was not the normal menu, they had turkey and mashed potatos and all the pilgrims fare. Here is a link to the 2007 Thanksgiving choices at WDW, I'm sure real soon they will be coming out with the '08 list which will be similar:

I would pick either or 'Ohana or Whispering Canyon because both are all you can eat and served family style, meaning they bring it out to the table rather then getting up and going to the buffet, more like a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at home, without the clean up!:thumbsup2 but also without the left overs:sad1:

I sent an email to my DB who lives there and here's his response:

Altamonte is filled with chain restaurants…that’s no problem. Pick a brand and it’s within a mile or so. Check Google for Altamonte Springs, FL…..lots!
Right in Embassy Suites is Omaha Steak House – good beef, may be expensive?
Gina’s on the Water – walking distance from hotel and moderately priced. Used to be Italian, but changed hands….haven’t been there in a year.
Best Seafood – Straub’s Seafood, right on Rt. 436 just east of the Mall (Mall is next door to hotel). I like it….but turkey???
Sam Seltzers – about one mile east of hotel on Rt. 436. I’m sure they will have a line, reservations ??, and they’ll have a special for Thanksgiving.
First Watch – about one mile west of hotel, in strip mall with Ethan Allen furniture. My favorite breakfast & lunch place, may be closed for Thanksgiving. Family friendly.

HTH - enjoy your trip!! :goodvibes

THANK YOU for your response and all of the suggestions!

Currently, my sister and I thought that we will order Thanksgiving dinner from Boston Market and bring it back to our hotel.

The fact that we are spending the holiday :grouphug: together means so much more than the food!

Thanks again!:hippie:
