Can anyone tell me how the parks are on - on Thanksgiving day? I have heard from a not so reliable source that they are never busy on the actual day. We are heading for DCL and have a few days on our last park hopper that we could use. We have Kennedy Space Center planned for Friday so were wondering on how we could use our time. Thanks for any info

I was there this past Thanksgiving. We didn't go to a park on Thanksgiving day - we took the day off and wnet to DTD and had dinner at Chef Mickey's. But I heard someone say they stopped admitting to MK due to the crowds. The rest of the week wasn't that bad.

We went to AK last Thanksgiving. We were surprised how small the crowds were. We had a great day! Hope this helps.

Last Thanksgiving my family went to the MK early in the morning. That was the best decision, it got crowed 11 am. so we went and got haircuts at the barbers. Real cool! Went back around dinner time and the parks were great.

Does the Christmas decoratons go up thanksgiving weekend or would we have to be there the following week? Want to go back down for the Decorations!::yes::

Christmas decorations are mostly up just before Thanksgiving. Some they are still working on but most are up that week.

Thanksgiving at WDW has become a family tradition:p :p
Staying AWAY from MK on Thanksgiving Day is the family RULE:earseek:

We are actually thinking about MGM my sons are huge star wars fans and love star tours. Maybe a jump over to epcot to the new Mission ride. any ideas?

the mission space ride is ALWAYS busy-i don't think
i'd try it on Thanksgiving Day-
;)

we've found AK to be the most manageable on T Day :smooth:

Rule of thumb---Zig when the crowds Zag ;)

We have been to MGM (my favorite) at Thanksgiving and loved it! Just make sure you make PS as early as possible!! We are going again this year with my parents (went last time, too) and sister-in-law and her family. This is their first time and I can't think of a better time to go!

Im staying on disney property but just before Thanksgiving we're moving onto Universal property- HRH (24th-27th). Where would you recommend spending Thanksgiving? We have never been in America for this time of year and don't really know what to expect.

Where would be a good place to spend dinner? We dont have our own transport so it could be restrictive. ::MinnieMo

We ate Thanksgiving dinner this past year at Royal Pacific. They had a wonderful buffet with chef carved turkey. It was really good. As far as the parks if you will be at a Universal Hotel then you will get front of the line for all the rides so it would definitely be to your advantage to go to either IOA or Universal.
