Anyone have any resources that I can read you on for Thanksgiving in DL?
Are they usually open really late?
Is Fantasmic open?
Crowds?
Thanksgiving Dinner?
Weather?
Anything I should know about while making my decision?

We went to DL for Thanksgiving in 2007 and had a great time! If I remember correctly, they were open late but there was no Fantasmic (someone else can confirm these two things).

Various restaurants on property will have Thanksgiving meals. They'll have more information on who is offering which meals later in the year. We chose Goofy's Kitchen. The food was good and it was very festive but not at all traditional. This is what we wanted - it was perfect for us. I believe there is a more traditional offering at GCH.

It was crowded, but we knew it would be. The days leading up to Thanksgiving weren't too bad, but the day after was a zoo.

As for the weather, it was definitely chilly. All of our pictures include jackets and hats. ;)

Have a great time!

Fantasmic was shown during Thanksgiving week in '09.

And according to the LP Calendar (link), Fantasmic was also shown in '07.

Like Escape2Disney already mentioned, yes, DL is usually open really late during Thanksgiving week.

Is Fantasmic open?
Yes, Fantasmic is usually shown every night during Thanksgiving week.

In '09, Thanksgiving and the 2 days after were not "crazy crowded." The crowds were very manageable on Thurs. and Fri., and Saturday morning was unusually slow and very uncrowded. I don't know how crowded it will be this year, but that's how it was in '09.

Thanksgiving Dinner?
The Carnation Cafe served the traditional turkey meal for lunch and dinner. I think other restaurants did that, as well. I've heard that some of the resorts do something special for Thanksgiving dinner (it sounded pricey), but that's something to look into.

Escape2Disney already mentioned this. The nights were chilly, and you definitely would want to wear long pants and a jacket. Thanksgiving day was very warm, and many people wore shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Friday morning was very chilly (that was the morning when the wait time for Splash Mtn was less than 5 minutes, and the FastPass Return Time was only 35 minutes away).

DL is extra special during the Christmas season. The Believe fireworks and Christmas Fantasy Parade are great! You should go to Santa's Reindeer Roundup at Big Thunder Ranch to meet Santa and see his 8 reindeer. :santa:

Hope this helps. :earsboy:
