We're thinking of going back down to WDW for Thanksgiving this year. I'm not too sure though how to go about booking our flights. No problem the rest of the year but I've never traveled at this time before and I know that it can get crazy. My question to those of you that do this routinely....am I better off booking Song now, at about $215 pp r/t or wait and see what JetBlue and Southwest offer? I've flown Song and like them. And I don't want to get stuck paying over $250 pp. Will this be an issue if I am actually flying on Thanksgiving vs the day before?? Thanks guys.

Come on guys....someone has to have some insight into this!!!!

We used to fly to Florida every Thanksgiving day (stopped doing it in 2002 in favor of the day before). The crowds are very minimal on the holiday itself, and you should be able to find a good airfare.

I travel to Boston every Thanksgiving. On the day of Thanksgiving it used to be practically empty and much cheaper. Things appear to be chaning. The last few years the flights are fuller and fares are higher.

My suggestion is to book early especially if you want to return on Sunday! I would say you are looking at a $200 airfare. The flights sell out pretty fast for that weekend.

We're flying down for our cruise on Thanksgiving day. Booked at the 330 day mark and got our flights on USAir for $750 (4 tickets) from BWI (Baltimore/Washington). I wanted to be able to choose my flight times so I booked as early as possible.

We went to WDW Thanksgiving week in 2002 (Friday before to Friday after the holiday). I booked at the 330 day mark and the prices never got better for me. I wasn't able to book the day Airtran and SW released their dates and missed all the good deals (although I don't think the prices were much cheaper). Hope this helps.

I'm in the same boat, I want to take my family down for Nov 20-27
The cheapest flights right now are for Song. I might try to wait out Jetblue at the end of the month. If they pull another (we are currently taking reservations for 8 months out ) I will book Song.

Usually the PM nonstops returning from Orlando on Song or Delta or US Air or American sell out of the lowest fare tiers very soon, sometimes within hours as early as the afternoon of the 332'nd day in advance.

Once I got the Sunday late PM flight return after Thanksgiving at the lowest everyday fare of $110. one way due to (using the internet stations at Disney Quest) happening upon a fresh schedule change that happened to re-initialize the seat allotments with some availabilities in the lowest category (this was not a fare sale).
