Thanksgiving Crowds vs. Pre-4th of July

We are no strangers to WDW trips during busy times of the year. We have had a number of June trips to WDW and this last trip was the last week of June into the first days of July. We were at WDW for the 4th but we avoided the parks on July 3/4. We are considering going this year the week of Thanksgiving to try to better fit my kid's schedules. I know Thanksgiving Day will be probably as busy as July 4th but can we expect the surrounding days to be about the same as the 4th of July week crowd wise or are they typically bigger? We actually did fine with the crowds around the 4th but the heat was the bigger killer. I am thinking the same level crowds with a more pleasant temperature would be much nicer.

Thanksgiving is considerably less crowded than the 4th of July.

Thanksgiving doesn't have the added special fireworks-induced crowd craziness, but the surrounding days aren't that different. The weekend before Thanksgiving will be much lower than the weekend before the 4th.

Thanks! I think I have myself convinced that Thanksgiving is completely doable. My kids might miss some swimming/water parks if the temps are too cool but they don't really remember any of the holiday stuff since they were so much younger during our last winter trip. I think it will be a good trade off and after a number of summer trips the cooler temps sound perfect.
