I was thinking of booking a short trip for the three days before Thanksgiving (flying home on Thanksgiving) so we could see the Christmas decorations. How busy is this time of year? We have been during spring break, June, July, and September. Would you compare this time to spring break crowds? This will be our fourth trip there this year so I want to make it cheap and stay at Aventura. Therefore, we won't have express passes and have to wait in stand by lines. I would love to hear from people who have gone during this time. Thanks!

It can be quite busy this time of year because Florida kids are out for a full week at Thanksgiving, which means that families from in state and out of state are going to theme parks this week. Spring break crowds is probably a good comparison.

We've been to 3 of the last 4 Thanksgivings (2017, 2019, 2020), and I can say that it is extremely crowded that time of year (especially as you get closer to Thursday). For us, express passes are required. Things get so crowded in the afternoon that even EP lines can be 45+ minutes.

But since you've been a bunch and know what you like, I recommend arriving at the parks for EE and try to get as many rides done before 10:30 am as you can. At that point, expect 60+ minute waits for most rides until the evening. Things tend to lighten back up then.

Thanks for the feedback. I was worried that the crowds would be bad. I didn't like the crowds when we were there for spring break a couple of years ago. I think we will probably skip this trip. It's a lot of money for such a short trip and it sounds like we won't get to do a lot. I mainly wanted to see the Christmas decorations and shows, but it could be very frustrating if all the ride lines are super long. Thanks again!

You could plan to do shows and more exploring vs as many rides. Just reset your wishlist itinerary. Hit your must rides during early entry.
