Hi All!

Anybody want to join me in a 'my birthday is on Thanksgiving this year' whine???:D

Yup, Nov 25 is my birthday and it falls on Thanksgiving this year. I know having a birthday nearer Christmas is much worse but Thanksgiving is a close second. Who like to have candles in a pie instead of a cake???

This feeling of having to share my birthday with a holiday is compounded by the fact that we are hosting my husband's family at our house so I have to do most of the cooking.

Ho Hum...what is getting me through the day is the fact that I am getting out of Dodge early Friday morning to meet my college roommate in NYC so we can both celebrate our 40th together!

So to all you Thanksgiving Birthday folks- I hope you have a great day and folks remember to say 'Happy Birthday' to you BEFORE they say 'Happy Thanksgiving'!!::yes::

 :bday:

....well my Dd was born on Thanksgiving day 1983, and since then it's only been on Thanksgiving once. It's today and she's 21!
How did she grow up so fast????
Anyway, we always make it a "birthday" party and never try to blend it in with Turkey day.
I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow!:sunny:

Oh, what a bummer. But HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! My sister's birthday was yesterday and it's fallen on Thanksgiving before. I know we did have a cake for her, along with the other traditional desserts. I think she was still in college the last time, so she didn't have to "host" T-day.

Talk about holiday birthdays....DH's and my b-days are both within two weeks of xmas (in either direction). Older son was due on Easter, but born two days later. My younger son was due on July 4th, but born on the 3rd.

ARE YOU KIDDING??????? It is my birthday tommorow too and I LOVE having my birthday on or near Thanksgiving. I especially love it when it falls on Thanksgiving. You get to celebrate with family that you might not normally see, and you get a parade on your birthday! When I was little no one ever forgot my birthday and I always felt that extra something special! Tommorrow my inlaws are baking a cake especially for me! I always had special birthdays and a wonderful childhood, I have so much to be thankful for.

That is a shame that you didn't get the same kind of wonderful birthdays that I did. Hope that you can enjoy some of your special day tommorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!!:cake:

Happy B-day!!! My DD turns 4 tomorrow. We are having a cake in addition to pie. That's a bummer that you have to cook on your B-day though. :bday: :cake:

Happy Birthday! :bounce: :sunny:

my spouse was born on t-giving day, and his birthday is also his parents' anniversary

My DH could whine with you. His birthday is the 27th, which is sometimes on Thanksgiving Day. DMIL and FIL had a LOT of thanks to be giving THAT Nov. day 29 years ago. :)

This year, his birthday actually falls on Saturday. We won't be celebrating, however. Too busy picking ourselves up off the floor after Black Friday. :/

My birthday is Nov. 25th too! My mother had dinner for me on Sunday. We are going to MILs tomorrow. DH and I will end up doing most of the work, so I won't even get to enjoy my birthday. Happy birthday to all of us!! :bday: :cake:

ME! I hate candles in pie as well! Yes, I could never have parties at school, since my birthday was always on the holidays. Forget trying to schedule a party when everyone is out of town as well.

I'll be 34 tomorrow.

My DS is 3 today (24th), so next year his birthday will be on Thanksgiving. My water broke on Thanksgiving :-) My grandparents were married on Thanksgiving 54 years ago (22th) and my aunt just had a baby girl on Monday (22). So there are lots of Thanksgiving events in our family. My birthday is Monday (30) but it never falls on Thanksgiving.

My son was born on Thanksgiving day ..on November 27th.......will be 35 years ago......I celebrated with pumpkin pie after....
some people said we should of named him Tom......I THINK NOT......hahaha.
he does not eat cake but loves his birthday pies...

My son turns 24 tomorrow! He was born two days before Thanksgiving, (Nov. 25, 1980). Whenever his birthday has fallen on Thanksgiving, he always comments that EVERYONE, especially his younger sisters, is giving thanks for his presence.

And I LOVE it when Thanksgiving lands on my Birthday!!! Of course, I never host Thanksgiving dinner at my house, and I get a cake AND pie. But I agree with Princess Vija, you get to see people you normally don't on other birthdays. Sometimes they even give you presents! And you get to be the Thanksgiving Queen (or King)!

Happy Birthday to us!

My DS birthday is on 11/29 (monday this year). I think it has only fallen on Thanksgiving once. We are having a Red Sox B-day party for him. My only complaint is that it is hard to find families who are around at Thanksgiving. A lot of people are gone and it has made for some small parties. We never combine it with the holiday though as that doesn't seem fair. My DH's dad's b-day is 11/28 so they almost shared one. My other two kids were both born on 7/1 so they sometimes have the same issues . . . lots of people gone away for July 4th. My mom's b-day is 12/26 and I always felt like she got ripped off. :p I guess we have a lot of that b-day/holiday in our family. Anyway Happy Birthday to you. I hope someone does something to make it special for you. Happy Birthday to everyone else too who is celebrating!

My oldest son will be 23 on Thanksgiving Day. I always thought it was special to have a Thanksgiving baby! He will be home in a few hours from medical school and I can't wait to see him! We will celebrate his birthday tonight so we can give him our full attention. Shrimp and pasta for dinner, with a chocloate birthday cake. Tomorrow we will celebrate too with turkey, of course. Happy Birthday to all of you with Thanksgiving birthday's, I am sure the ones you love are so very grateful for you! :)

My SIL's birthday is the 25th, so we will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow as well! :)

Well, Happy Birthday to you!!!

My son's birthday is Sunday. He was born the day after Thanksgiving, and so far has had one birthday fall on the actual day. So far, he doesn't seem to care too much. And I made sure to get him a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream cake that year- and not harvest themed- it had Spiderman on it! :D

Count me in! Another 11/27 birthday here, which fell on Thanksgiving last year. This year it's the big 40 for me!

Growing up, Mom always tried to keep the two separate. If it fell on Thanksgiving day, then she'd have my dinner on another night. I always thought the best part was that I usually had a long weekend right around my birthday. Now THAT's cool!

The worst thing for me was never having any friends around to celebrate, especially as a young adult. DH made up for it this year, though. He threw me a surprise party a couple of weekends ago, and my friends flew in from all over the country. I loved seeing all of my friends again and still can't believe they came all this way for me! Best 40th birthday present ever!
