Thanksgiving availability at HHI

I am a new member at HHI and was hoping to use my home booking advantage to make a reservation for Thanksgiving. The problem is I have encountered a delay in getting my new points into my account (due to length of time to get the deed recorded in SC). Will I have trouble getting something at 7 months? If not, that would make this wait a whole lot easier. Thanks for your thoughts!

Good luck! The resort is always booked solid for Thanksgiving, but I don't know if something might still be available. Of course, it depends partially on what size unit you're looking for, since there are more 2 BRs available. If not, there's always the waitlist. But we went on the waitlist one year, and after several months of waiting, we decided to call and see about Member's Cash. Yes, they had Member's Cash, and at that time of year the rates are so reasonable that we ended up with a 1 BR for about $125/night. But you don't want to go to HHI at Thanksgiving. Yech, Pooey Leave more room for us! Our first Thanksgiving visit was 5 years ago, and since then it's been a tradition. Recently we bought points there to assure we could book at the 11 month window. So if you get to go there then, don't hesitate to ask us questions.

I just remembered one thing-weather. The "typical" weather is not typical. We've had weather ranging from one year of ice and freezing rain on Thanksgiving day to last year's hot tub weather.

Yes, I think I would try for the 2. I live about 3 hours from HHI and although the weather can be variable, I've had many pleasant Thanksgivings in SC.
