Can anyone tell me what Thanksgiving week is like at Universal? Is it horribly crowded? Are there any holiday decorations up yet?

Ive never actually been at this time, but looking at the express pass projections, and hearing about past stories it seems to be very busy. Someone with better knowledge will be around shortly.

The week leading up to the holiday (including Thanksgiving Day) isn't too bad but that weekend is completely nuts! Yes...the decorations are up by that time but the festivities don't start until the first weekend of December.

We'll be down from the Wednesday before until Monday after so I guess we'll have to skip Universal this time. Kind of disappointing for my 2 DS's and the 2 friends they're bringing on this trip.:sad1: Thanks for the info Metro.

That's too bad you are going to skip Universal this time. All local parks are crazy busy that weekend so just be prepared for long lines at Universal, SeaWorld and Disney...it's not going to be any less crowded at another park. I hope that's not why you're going to skip?

We own DVC and are coming down for our 25th Anniversary. Thanksgiving weekend was the only time that would work for us because our sons are out of college for Thanksgiving weekend. They are bringing a couple of friends along and were hoping to go to Universal. I have been to WDW during Thanlsgiving and I know it'll be crowded but was hoping that maybe Thanksgiving day would be less crowded at Universal. We will be down mid June and plan on going to Universal at that time but were hoping November would work too.

I think you misread my post...Thanksgiving Day is not that crowded...it's the weekend that's nuts.

Oops...you're right I did. I'll have to see if we could plan to do Universal during the day and our Thanksgiving meal in the evening at WDW. Thanks!

we have stayed at PB the week of Thanksgiving three different times and loved it. The Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before were great and even Thanksgiving day was not too bad. The Friday after started getting crowded and Saturday and Sunday were busy but nothing we could not handle. No where near as busy as Disney is during the holidays. We are going back again this Thanksgiving.

Thank you so much. It's great to hear from someone who has been there during that time.

This is exactly correct. Mon-Thu of Thanksgiving Week (yes, that includes the holiday itself) = not busy, but not slow. Fri/Sat = :headache:

Is there a good place for a Thanksgiving dinner (evening) at Universal? It would be easier if we didn't have to rush back to WDW for our meal.

yes! We have eaten at Tratoria at PB every Thanksgiving we have been there.

It is a fantastic buffet with everything you can imagine. We are planning on it again this year.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just checked last years menu and it does sound fantastic. But at $46.00 per person it's just too expensive for us as we will have to pay for 6 people.

Any holiday meal at a resort restaurant is going to be at a premium. Any Thanksgiving buffet around town is going to be at least $35.00/per person based on the newspaper ads from last year.

plus..we used our annual pass or AAA and got 10% off. Also, children are 23.00 not the full 46.00.
