Last year was our first camping trip to the fort and we were there from the wednesday before Thanksgiving throgh the Thursday after Thanksgiving. It was the best of my 14 WDW visits. We knew that the parks would be crowded for the thanksgiving weekend so we stayed out of them the first week. On Thanksgiving day they had crafts and games at the pool all day. We then had dinner at the California grill at the Contemporary. This was probobly the best thanksgiving my family has had. Friday we went to the Animal Kingdom and it was packed. Saturday we hung out at the pool at the fort and relaxed since we were told that it would be crowded as well. On Sunday we went into the Magic Kingdom. The monorail driver said it was only about 1/3 capacity that day. I've never gone on so may rides in a day. We also had tickets for the Christmas Party that night. It's the first night that they run it. Again, not crowded! The next week all of the parks were empty. all I can say is the week after THanksgiving was like all of the promotional video you see. No people and able to run right up to the charecters. In Epcot we were walking by France and saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Jimminy Cricket and Ponochio and only FOUR people with them all. It was our best photo shoot of the trip. To sum it up. Thanksgiving at the Fort is great. If your making reservations for dinner you need to make them 90 days out (I think that it is Tuesday this week). Other wise stay out of the parks until Sunday and injoy the campground if you can. Sorry if I rambled to much. (BTW we have reservations for the same timeframe this year.)
