I have never actually eaten at DLR on Thanksgiving. Can anyone give me some tips or hints. Any special buffets or meals? Anything going on?

We decided not to cook, and I really dont' want to go anywhere either, so we are looking locally to have Thanksgiving dinner.

Any help is appreciated. TIA!

I am 99% sure that they are doing a special buffet in the DLH ballroom similiar to what they do at dinner. I have been callling recently to make PS arrangements for our Christmas trip and when I am on hold the message talks about how they are booking Thanksgiving dining experiences right now. So, I would recommend calling 714-781-DINE (is it sad that I know this # by hear & have it programmed into my cellphone along with HOJO?:confused3 ) and they should be able to lay out all of your options for you.

I also have the number programed into my cell phone, and I have it written on a post it next to my work phone too.

I was gonna call tomorrow, but was just hoping if someone had other info or has been before.

Thanks!

A few years ago, we had Thanksgiving at DLR. We booked Storyteller's for Thanksgiving dinner- probably around 1 or 2 pm? Anyway, we had a large group of 12 or so. The line for the buffet was incredibly long, and some of us had finished eating by the time others got back to the table (someone had to stay at the table with the wee ones). It was awful. I wouldn't do that again, and it was terribly expensive. My parents and I have premium APs, but the rest of the family only has Deluxe, so everyone had to buy blackout tickets as well.

Otherwise, DCA was delightful that day. Uncrowded as usual, and wonderful weather. The only hitch was about 5 or so we decided to hop into DL- yeah, us and every other So Cal resident who finished their turkey dinner! Ay yi yi. I remember we waited forever for Peter Pan (it was a must do for DS at that age), then I think we hit Buzz, and then left! If I did it again, I'd probably book a seated dinner at Hook's Pointe and still just stick with DCA for the day.

How was the meal? The food good? Service? We will be two adults and a 12 year old so no need for any of us to wait at the tables. And since we are very local, we won't go to the parks that day. We are having a low key Thanksgiving. Planning on going out to dinner then hitting a movie. We would also do our meal around 1 or 2. We like early dinner.

I called and its $37.16 for adults, including tax and gratuity.

The food was pretty good, but the service wasn't at all. Like I said, it was incredibly crowded. I remember my meal being closer to $50/pp, but maybe that included the wine with dinner?

It was nice to not have any dishes to do! And of course Storyteller's is beautiful. :)
