I have heard it is really busy at this time to head to Disney. What defines busy? I have gone in the Spring when it is quite busy~would it compare to that? I was thinking of checking in the day before Thanksgiving till the Sunday after~should I reconsider the dates?

We were there last year at that time and will be there again this year. The park does get very crowded. Last year we were there for two weeks and stayed the week after Thanksgiving also and it was much slower.

We did not go into the park on Thanksgiving but I am pretty sure I heard they closed the MK on that day. Once nice thing about it is it should be cooler then going in the spring and this makes it easier to deal with the crowds. All the holiday decorations will also be up so this is why we also like this time of year.

We were there last year, the Saturday through Wednesday before Thanksgiving were not that bad, the longest we waited for anything was about 20 min. Thursday we went to AK it was pretty crowded, Thursday night we went to Magic Kingdom for Wishes and EMH and walked on to most every ride. I guess most people left by then. We are going again this year, the decorations really are worth it.

We were there last year from 11/22-12/1 (day before thanksgiving till the Friday after), I do not believe MK was closed due to crowds, but it seemed a bit more crowded than usual too. We go at this time ever year, and yes the first few days (until the Sunday right after Thanksgiving -- so this year on 11/25/27) it is a bit busy, and then it drops off!

It is busy, I am not sure when in Spring you go, but if you ahve been there at Spring Break time, that is crowed! Like parks get to capacity crowded. I ahve been there at pretty much every time of the year, and I would rank the "busy" as follows (busiest first); Christmas, Spring Break, Thanksgiving (just thursday, friday, saturday). I love that time of the year with the decorations, MVMCP, & Candlelight processional; and to be honest with the invention of fastpass and stroller swap, EMH, as well as planning on where to go which day (I would steer clear of MK on Thanksgiving! and pick something like AK or MGM) the "crowds" are really controlled. It does drop way off after saturday (11/24) and then it is literally walk on. If you wanted to reconsider dates start your trip on 11/25-- several reasons, the resorts rates drop back to value, and the crowds are gone. This is a great time to go to Disney (once you go with it decorated for xmas, you'll be hooked). the weather has been pretty good the last few years, shorts, carpi's, sweatshirt at night usually. And the biggest plus, if you go then you can see me! I'll be there! lol!:santa:

We are thinking about arriving New Year's Day and staying the week after. My daughter's birthday is the 1st and she has always wanted to be there on her birthday. I have been the week after Christmas and New Year's Eve, and promised I would NEVER go back that week again!! I was unbelieveably crowded!!
