Hi all! We are VERY excited to be 30 days away from celebrating Thanksgiving at Aulani. Taking extended multi-generational family to Aulani for the first time and just want everything to be wonderful! I am hoping there are members here who have celebrated Thanksgiving at Aulani in the past - both last year with restrictions and before restrictions - who might be able to share you experiences.

First, I'm trying to figure out Thanksgiving dinner. I made a reservation at Makahiki this morning as they said they will be offering a traditional meal as an entrée option, but did anyone experience this last year? If so, how was it? Is it family style so you can ask for seconds or is it a single serving? Thanksgiving dinner is all about the leftovers, right? ;-)

I am also considering ordering a prepared meal that we can heat up in our villa so we will have leftovers. Has anyone done this before and have recommendations? I've searched online and not seeing many menus yet, guessing I may need to wait until Nov 1st.

Any other restaurants or hotels nearby that may also offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal? I see Monkeypod is accepting reservations again, including on Thanksgiving, but nothing on their site about a Thanksgiving menu.

I appreciate any information you are willing to share! Thanks so much!

We were there for Thanksgiving before covid. Maybe 4 years ago? Then, they offered dinner reservations at Ama Ama or Makahiki. We made a reservation at Ama Ama and then cancelled it because we decided it was too pricey for us. I guess not an issue this year? We ended up grabbing food from Ulu and eating on the beach. It was relaxed and the kids still remember the year we ate Mickey ice cream sandwiches on the beach on Thanksgiving. Whatever you do, hope it's a great Thanksgiving!

Costco in the states usually has a really good heat & serve Thanksgiving meal. Might be worth checking out, as there is a Costco in Kapolei very close to Aulani. Plus their Pumpkin Pie is YUM

Great tip! Usually stores on the Islands offer similar selections as on the mainland.

Thanks all! I also found a take-out Thanksgiving meal offered at Zippy's which seems well reviewed online.

I like Zippy’s for chicken and chili, but their turkey plates are always dry, their cranberry tastes like it’s from a can, and I’m pretty sure they used instant potatos. You can find much, much better food for the price.

Thanksgiving menus should be out in a week or two. I’m looking to order our family meal from Burgers on Bishop (not close to Aulani). I believe Big City Diner has their Thanksgiving meal available to order online already.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'll keep watching for options online (didn't see Costco's meal listed yet) but will definitely look up Big City Diner!
