Thanksgiving and Christmas all rolled into one! November 2012-100 DAYS TO DISNEY 8/9

I really need to get better about updating this.

Not much new on the Disney trip 2012 front but....

We booked a trip for June 2013!

We will be staying at the Fort Wilderness campground in the camper we just bought this past weekend.

We are staying for 12 days from June 23rd to July 5th.

So I realize that I am basically talking to myself but that is okay!

Here are a bunch of ideas I am hoping to execute for our trip (all thanks to Pinterest):

I definitely want to make my kids little goodie baskets or maybe a little surprise for each day such as an outfit or perhaps treat.

I would love to buy this but for $20 I think I could do one myself. We did the countdown chain for our last trip and that was fun but got kind of old after a while.

Definitely would love to have these for our meal at Chef Mickey's. I think I can easily make them myself.

This shirt is awesome!

I already have two shirts for my daughter from Old Navy. One is Belle and that other I believe is Cinderella.

Here they are:

There are a couple more that I would like to buy for both my boys and my daughter.

My oldest would love this one:

Oh I forgot about one outfit I really am hoping to make for DD for the Christmas party:

Now I just need to figure out what to make for the boys to wear.

It really isn't that fun talking to yourself! Oh well I will continue and maybe someone will join me.

I did buy a shirt for DS1 for this trip, well I know he will want to wear it beforehand but I am going to try to hide it. Here it is:

cn4926549.jpg

I am hoping I can get a smaller sized one for DS2.

Also I am looking into buying a waterproof case for my point and shoot digital camera. Not necessarily for this trip but definitely for our trip next June as we are planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon. Has anyone used before? I have no idea what to look for when buying a case.

Here is one that looks good:

It is the Gomadic Clean-n-Dry Waterproof Camera Case for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70 * unique floating design

We are at 102 days and I am hoping to start our countdown calendar at 100 days. I just need to get the supplies to make it and figure out where to hang it. I will take a picture when I have it finished.

I am not sure how I lost your PTR? Sorry about that.

Today is the day! 180 days!

So this morning I was up bright and early, really no different than any other day but I was excited to get out of bed this morning. I gathered up my Disney planning notebook and the iPad and headed down to our computer. I think by the time I got set up it was 7:10 and I called WDW Dining only to be put on hold for 55 minutes ! But that is okay since I made reservations for our non-show meals online. I was really only calling to find out more information about the Mickey's Backyard BBQ Thanksgiving Feast. So I was able to get everything I wanted at the times I wanted. So without much further ado here is our list:

Tony's Town Square-dinner Haven't eaten here
Hollywood & Vine-character breakfast Haven't done this one either.
50's Prime Time-dinner We've done this a few times - just dont' request a "fun server" - play dumb - trust me. :thumbsup2
Coral Reef-dinner This is on our maybe list.
Tusker House-Donald's Safari-breakfast Definately enjoyed the breakfast more than lunch.
Spirit of Aloha luau have not done this
Chef Mickey's-breakfast This is on our must do list - we've tried to get ADRs here several times, but it just never worked into our plans.
Tutto Italia-dinner Haven't done this one either.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ Thanksgiving Feast-dinner This looks like a lot of fun! I can't wait to hear all about it!
Cinderella's Royal Table-breakfast We have never eaten here - and now I fear the girls are too old to enjoy it.
Cape May Cafe-dinner The clam chowder was delicious! Just make sure you know how to crack crab before you go... we didn't and it would have been immensely helpful.
1900 Park Fare-breakfast I would love to do this one too someday.

Most of the restaurants we have eaten at before with the exception of Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Cape May Cafe and 1900 Park Fare. I am really excited about Cape May Cafe and Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I am thinking of adding in Le Cellier for lunch one day but I need to see where that will fit into our schedule.

Oh one other update is that we added another night to our reservation so we will be staying in a 1 bedroom Savanna view villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani. We added this so we can attend the MVMCP on Friday night.

I am still searching for airfare and hoping I will find something in our price range since we need to buy 4 seats instead of just 3.

So that is my exciting news for today! I hope someone starts reading along because it isn't much fun talking and planning by yourself.

I am super excited for you that you added another day on to your trip!

I really need to get better about updating this.

Not sure about the camera holder? It looks pretty convenient... I wonder what most people do in the water parks?

Hopefully I won't lose your PTR again...

I'm here. Just came back from my trip in late July and still unpacking and cleaning.

I like your Disney ideas and tshirts.

We do the special gifts each day...some are just Disney pens, others are shirts or toys. It's fun and keeps the kids from getting us up too early as they play with their new things. Sometimes we also hide them to make it even more fun! We put them in those reusable Disney bags so they know where the fairies have put the pixie dust!

I didn't use a camera at TL so can't comment but I did buy a Vacation Vault for TL. It's a mini safe to hold phone, room key, wallet and you wrap it around something like a chair, tree, fence. I put it around the lounge chair and covered with my towel...felt a little safer than in my beach bag and I didn't want to rent a locker and trudge over to it each time I wanted something from it.
I got mine from Home Depot but Bed, Bath & Beyond also sells them. ~$20.

Don't worry about it. I was pretty bad about updating it for a little while but since we are at 100 days today I am going to make an effort to come in here everyday.

We are very excited about FWC. I am trying to keep it a secret from the kids but DH is horrible at keeping secrets.

I am not sure what others do but I thought it would be fun to bring my camera to take pictures of the kids since this will be DS2 and DD's first real water park experience.

I know you just got back! I can't wait to hear how the mother/daughter trip went.

Those are the same type of special gifts I want to do for the kids. I know I already have some stuff but I can't really go and take inventory of it until DS1 is back in school. Good idea about the reusable Disney bags though.

The Vacation Vault looks really cool. How big is it, what could I fit in there? I am wondering if we could fit DH's wallet in there as well as my little camera and our cell phones.

So today marks

100 days until Disney!
I am working on our countdown "calendar" and hoping to have it finished by tomorrow so we can go from 99 days. I just need to figure out how to attach the numbers and also hit up Home Depot for some Mickey heads. I will post a picture when I am done with it which will hopefully be tomorrow.

No other news except I did make a bunch of fabric Mickey heads with some leftover Mickey Mouse fabric I had and plan to use them for pajama tops since I already made the bottoms. I am just going to use short sleeve white t-shirts and sew them on. The others will be used for bags for each child I believe.

WHOOT!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!! :)

These are cute. I have plenty of time till my trip and may jsut teach myself to sew till then!

Joining in!!! SO maybe instead of talking to ourselves, we can talk to each other!!!!!

I had no idea they make waterproof camera cases like that. Can you still take a picturre while it's in the pouch? When we went to the water park, I had gotten 2 water proof point and shoot disposables from Five Below. We took one with us and DH took some picts, put it in his pocket and LOST it on the lazy river. I was SOOOO mad at him..the ONE job I gave him and he lost it!!!!

Yes, you can still take a picture underwater. I really just want to be able to take pictures at the WP so that I don't have to freak out about it getting wet. I would be so mad if DH lost the camera as well.

I am thinking of making haircut appointments for each of the kids at the Harmony Barber shop. I have no problem getting DS1 and DS2's haircut but I am nervous about cutting DD's hair. She has a lot of it, hair that is. I just think it would be a fun memory. I really need to figure out where this would fit into our schedule and hope I am not too late in planning this.

Weve done it 3x now...it is fun...but it is not the greatest haircut. The first time my dd3 bangs were crooked. Now we just do a little trim on the sides and back.

After talking to DH I think we are going to hold off on it until our June 2013 trip since we really want to focus on all the Christmas stuff this trip. DD would really be a trim since I don't plan on cutting her hair until it either gets too long or she tells me she wants it short.

Well, clearly, I had thought I had joined this PTR because as soon as I saw your picture I thought "I've read this before!" but I guess I didn't subscribe!!! :cool1:

Anyway, your trip is coming together nicely!! We thought about the Mickey's Backyard BBQ, but I want to wait until my youngest is a little older for shows like that.

I need to do more shopping for the clothes!! We live out in the middle of cornfields now, and there is just not much to chose from…

Super cute t-shirts for the kiddos!

Cant wait to see what you did for your countdown. The one you had a pic of a few posts back is what I am thinking about doing.

Don't worry about it. You are here now!

Yeah we wanted to do something special for Thanksgiving and something neither of us has ever done before and this fit the bill. We will also be able to scope out the campground for our trip next June.

Thanks! I hope to find some more soon or at least make some.

I have pictures but our desktop computer isn't working right now so I can't upload them. I did it a little different.

I'd like to try the cabins, but I could never camp, even at Disney!!! :lmao:
