Thanksgiving ADR woes

Called WDW-DINE yesterday just before 7am and got through. Liberty Tree was booked for lunch and no Cali Grill for dinner. The online dining reservations has not worked at all for Thanksgiving (26th) although I've been able to book other days online. I just don't get how the ADRs could already have been gone right from the jump on the day the 90 day ADR opened up. I guess all the ADRs were taken from those who were arriving the day before Thanksgiving and were able to book their entire vacation two days ago. It still stinks and I hate the hassles the online bookings have caused. At least WDW is going back to 180 days. Just needed to have a baby rant. Wah! Ok, I'm over it. I got an ADR for 50's PTC instead for Thanksgiving lunch and Yachtsman steakhouse for dinner. I actually had a choice for dinner between the Brown Derby and Yachtsman, so I hope I made the right call with that.

Us too. Our 90 day window opened up on the 27 and I called at 7AM. We originally wanted to do Hoopty Doo Review and I was surprised that we couldn't get it on Thanksgiving or actually any day until the night before we leave.

I also tried to get LTT but I figured that was a long shot. That would have been my second choice. Now we actually have an ADR at Wave and I am not sure how I feel about that for Thanksgiving.

Well, my date to make ADRs was on Monday, the 24th and I wasn't able to get anything for Thanksgiving day either, so all of the ADRs must have been scooped up by people that are arriving before the 22nd of Nov.

Thnksgiving ADR's are only gone at the really popular places like LTT I was able to get a 6:36 at Mama Melrose over the phone late yesterday. The CM I spoke to said the call volume had been low considering it was the 90 day for thanksgiving. She said that there was availibilty several places, but their theory was that people were assuming nothing was open after getting an error online. I heard reports on another thread of people getiing places like Chef Mickey for dinner at a reasonable time on thanksgiving as late as about 4:00 yesterday. I would call back and try a few more places.

Calling in and talking to a CM was the only way I was able to get anything booked for Thanksgiving.

I booked my Thanksgiving lunch on 8/22 and had problems. I wanted CP at noon, but only could get it at 3:15. I was able to get LTT at 11:45, but I cancelled it since my family didn't want to have a limited selection for the meal (assuming it will be the traditional Thanksgiving meal only).

I now have the last seating at CP at 10:25. We will be doing brunch for Thanksgiving. Our plane leaves early evening on Thanksgiving.

I too was able to book all my ADR's online with the exception of Thanksgiving. I got through within 5 minutes on Saturaday, but on Sunday when I called again hoping that more times would become available I was on hold for over 60 minutes. On Friday I called at 7:00 once again and got through right away, with no luck getting CP between 11:30 - 12:30.

You're right about the people arriving before you and getting to book within their 90+10 window. We arrive on the 21st and leave on the 28th, so I was able to book last Sunday for the whole trip.

That being said, keep playing around with the online system. I got it to pull up T'giving last night. 1900, Citrico's, CRT (dinner), and a few other places were available. Good luck!

I wasnt able to pull up Thanksgiving day but got all the reservations I wanted for the other days. I called at 9:30 yesterday morning to book Thanksgiving day and Kona, Boma, Trail End, Cape May, and Captains Grille where open for dinner around 6:30

It's good to know there will be other Dis members around on Thanksgiving day. I booked my dinner on the 24th, so I didn't have any problem. But it did stink that we had to call in for the Reservation. Sometimes I think they don't honestly give you the times available. I had to take a 4pm for dinner, there was nothing later than that. We wanted a family dinner, and will be at Epcot that day--so we will be dining at the Garden Grill. It should be nice and relaxed for the kids. I hope everyone else nabs something good for Turkey day.

We didn't get Thanksgiving Day ressies either, although I wasn't incessant about it anyway. I called once for Fantasmic dinner pkg., and they were gone-at all the restaurants. I then tried online and soon realized that nothing would come up Thanksgiving Day. Dh and I talked and decided to skip a Thanksgiving ADR and do two on Friday after instead. That is one of our Epcot days, so lots to choose from.
