Thanksgiving 2012

Does anybody have any suggestions on when the best time to book a Disney vacation for next Thanksgiving to get the best deals? Or do they offer any great deals around the holidays at all? Thinking of booking for next Thanksgiving (2012). One of my ultimate dreams is to see Disney decorated for Christmas. That dream may some day come true!!!!

Personally I'd stay away from the holidays....room rates are at peak and the crowds tend to be just that....crowds...We done the first week of December, after the Thanksgiving crowds left...used to be a fairly quiet time but word is out and it was more crowded than usual, that was 2010....but then the weather was awful, got down right cold, no using the pool for the last bunch of days there...real bummer for us, we're pool people and are from the north and went to Florida to enjoy the sun and pool...oh well, weekend crowds we very high, weekdays not so bad...really hardly no one from rope drop till about 1 pm and then it thickened alot....

As I said, we only book during value season (check the Disney calendar for the different rate seasons) and no way go during a holiday period....some offers come out for the general public but rarely during holidyas...might snag free dining if you're into the ADR route, mousesavers.com is a good place to watch for discounts and codes......but you're a long way off to booking....we book as soon as we decide and if a better deal, code or pin comes out, we call and apply to our reservation....we rather have something in the books for later in a year and if nothing comes out, we'll try to apply at least the AAA discount...good luck..

Thanks for the response, but due to my career, I am only able to go during holidays and summer. I appreciate the info on the websites to check. May book after Christmas to just get it booked add any discounts if come available.

I'm also curious if there are other answers to this question. I'm starting to think about our next trip to WDW, hopefully in November 2012. We can go a little before Thanksgiving, so hoping that will be better crowd-wise.

Anymore it's ust a crap shoot on crowds...lot of people put stock in crowd counters and subscription services (we don't) and with Disney coming out with different promotions thru out the year to boost resort bookings.....it's all guess work...

We go (because we can) when room rates are at their lowest and when a good discount comes out (be it an AP, general or pin) usually decides when we go plus the value season tends, or used to, have lower crowds.....

If you can only go dueing the holidays or alittle before or after, you really have no choice in lower crowds.....you do as you may and work around them...early rope drop, EMH's and FP's.....but the used to be slower times are getting eaten up, unless you like the winter months (we don't go then since we enjoy the resort pool and hot sun)....tends to be a little slower then......
