Thanksgiving 2007!!!

As you guys know, I need to make up some brownie points for missing "Romantic Turndown" on the Magic. (two years in a row) oops.
Willie

Oh yes. I remember now. It seems there were more of us who also had problems(?) with the romantic turndown? Ours was that the rose petals in the bathtub and the romantic 'swans' didn't appear until the night AFTER we dined at Palo.

I'm envious reading about some of you possibly getting together before the next Turkey Day cruise. After our NYC trip in August, Rob won't be able to take much time off to make until Thanksgiving and Christmas, and even then, not long enough for a cruise (which is what we'd love to do again.)

Julia, we like the eastern itinerary better than the western, but if given a choice, I'd sail the western REPEATEDLY with the Turkey Gang  before I'd sail the eastern. I'll bet others here who've done the eastern will agree. But of course, I'm not trying to sway your decision. :rolleyes1 (Hey, maybe we can be next-door neighbors again!)

Doogie, and John,

tell me again the dates and where you guys will be at WDW in June? I have been asked by Hayley, Erin, and Kaila to take them to WDW somewhere in that time period.

Erin has a basketball tourney in Lubbock June 6-9, but she may not be able to play. She has a foot injury.

I may be driving down, if I can get a room somewhere on DVC points. We already have park passes.

I have a trade show June 12th -14th at the Merchandise Mart. I was going to go early in the morning and then drive back that evening. If you are available, i could drive up spend the night close by or on my return spend the night(i have a feeling i would be slow to get up in the morning after a visit with YOU! )

and Julia -July 17th -22nd She would be there all week as she will be in a Booth for her PAINT show, I was thinking on visiting with kids???? See some of the musuems

Greetings All!

Previously I had posted my Spring Break '08 plans involving Bayonne and Bermuda... well forget all that... I was looking at Orthodox Easter :confused3 anyway had to start over and Easter '08 is REALLY early - March 23rd. So... nothing going on up here so back to Florida to start the journey..

I picked RCI Radiance of the Seas for an 8 day eastern:

Date Port Arrive Depart Activity

15-Mar Fort Lauderdale, Florida 5:00 PM Boarding

16-Mar Cruising Cruising

17-Mar San Juan, Puerto Rico 2:00 PM 8:00 PM Docked

18-Mar Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas 7:00 AM 6:00 PM Docked

19-Mar St. Johns, Antigua 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Docked

20-Mar Philipsburg, St. Maarten 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Docked

21-Mar Cruising Cruising

22-Mar Nassau, Bahamas 1:00 PM 6:00 PM Docked

23-Mar Fort Lauderdale, Florida 7:00 AM Departure

Anyone have anything to share about the Radiance or these ports? I am a bit disappointed to be giving up the Explorer of the Seas and the flightless trip but I'm sure it'll be fine!

Hope everyone is doing fine!

Sherri

We just got our school schedule for 2006-2007. The dates are different for Christmas Holiday this year. The 10 Day Holiday is 12/16/2006 til the 26th.
DD's will have school on Monday-Wed the 18thto 20th. With Hayley maybe having exams those days. She is usually exempt from exams because she has an "A" average and good attendance. But there is no guarantee.

So, the ten day is looking kinda shaky for us. Kelli and the girls were really wanting that cruise more than me.

Seems as if most Turkey Day cruisers who originally booked that cruise are having to cancel. :guilty: Just more reason for everyone to book Thanksgiving 2007! :teeth: Now, what are everyone's plans for spring break 2007? We still have a deposit for the eastern on the Magic! I'll have to check the dates again. As much as I went on and on about RCCL, I'd still prefer to sail DCL again, TWICE in one year! Don't know if Rob and Rachel would go for it though. RCCL is quickly becoming a fading memory for me. Why don't we all come up with another trip idea of some sort between now and November 2007? (Even though most of us are already committed to other plans for this summer.) What about NEXT summer, LOL!

Not quite doing Spring Break... to much $$$ But doing April 21st 07 Western Magic!!! Finally will get to do the real Western (hopefully)!!! :thumbsup2

Hi DIS'ers
Julia and My 21st WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Today!
So much for my diet!
We have been on a perpetual date for the last few days!
See ya!
John

Happy Anniversary Julia and John! :yay:

I just finished transferring our cruise from this Thanksgiving to next year's. Charlie got lay-off a month ago.His job as everyone else's was turned over to the county.13 years he was there. Our great FL governor has caused this in many counties around FL.The good thing about this is that you all will be there next Thanksgiving.

Lets keep this thread alive my friends. :Pinkbounc

Maria

Hi Maria! So good to hear from you. :Pinkbounc

After reading the the posts on this thread (which, by the way, I don't think we'll have ANY problems in the least, keeping it alive) it looks as if 2006 is not a good year for most of the Turkey Day gang.

I'm sorry to read about Charlie's lay-off. If it's any consolation, Rob and I have been down that road many times. He and I 'took turns' working for companies which kept downsizing or closing altogether. As a result, we went for 8 years without vacationing anywhere.

I'll keep you and Charlie in my prayers. :) If anything good has come from this, it's for the Turkey Day gang in that you will be together with us NEXT Thanksgiving. Hang in there.

Thanks Priscilla! It is good to hear that we aren't alone.I did the hardest part today which was cancelling this year's cruise.I agree 2006 hasn't been a great year for us turkeys.2007 will be a better year for all of us.We could surely use some prayers.Thank you!

Maria

Hey Maria,

Sorry to hear about Charlies job. I had my share of lost jobs. I am too hard headed to work for someone else, so I started my own business.

Charlie is such a good guy that I am sure he will bounce back.

We are very close to cancelling the 10 Day Holiday due to our school changed holiday dates. Now Hayley will have exams.

I may not be able to wait til Thanksgiving 2007. I wanted to sail next summer, but the Magic will be overseas giving tourist dollars to the Europeans. :sad2:

I have been looking at going to the "DARK SIDE" and maybe doing RCCL Adventure of the Seas 7 day Eastern out of San Juan Puerto Rico. It is a huge ship and the price is good. Hits 6 ports, plus San Juan. Two adults in a balcony is $2904. total.
Doogie is eyeing it also. Take a look folks, at RCCL Adventure of the Seas sailing July 4th week departs on July 1.

We would have to start a new cruise thread on CC boards!

Willie

Maria-

We are sorry to hear about Charlie's job. You and Charlie are wonderful people and deserve good luck!! :wizard:

Willie-

We may have to cancel the 10 day cruise as well. Since Chuck and I work at the same office it doesn't look like we will be able to get that much time off together, but we are still hoping. :sunny:

We just returned last night from Busch Gardens. It was Mason's first time there. We had a great time!! Mason was tall enough for 1 of the roller coasters w/ a 360 loop--he rode hands up in the first row!! :thumbsup2
Lampskie and Willie would love Busch Gardens--free beer!! However, no Miller Light--sorry!!

We are now home and at work for a few days and then we will be at WDW!! :cool1:

Willie, you and Doogie DEFINITELY keep us posted! :Pinkbounc I don't know if we're going to sail next spring break (might just relax at home for a change) but we'll have our bags packed and waiting at the door if any of you Turkies commit to a date. I originally was apprehensive about cruising during summertime because of hurricanes, but realized it's the westerns which are usually hit. That would be great! How receptive would RCCL be to DISer families telling other cruisers "you should sail DCL. Their pirate night is incredible. Their Palo brunch is in a category all by itself, etc" LOL! Okay, maybe we wouldn't go that far (out loud anyway) but we can proudly wear our Castaway Cay shirts and DCL lanyards. :yay:

HMMMMM. May have to check this place out next trip down! :Pinkbounc :yay:  :bounce: :bounce: :woohoo:

Willie and Lisa your words mean a whole lot.I will print these out,and give them to Charlie. It will cheer him up.Thank you!!Willie,I fully understand what you mean about not havng a boss.I love being my own boss.Hopefully, things will start looking up soon.Charlie's old boss called today, and she hasn't found anything either. She is like I was hoping to hear some good news.I told her not yet.

Willie-Eastern Cruise sounds good right about now.I love San Juan and the Eastern Itinerary. It so beautiful. If you decide to go,you must take tons of photos and post them.Yes,you will have to go to Busch Gardens-Free Beer!It is surely worth the ride if you like roller coasters as they have quite a few there.

Lisa-I hope you,Chuck and Mason get to go on the 10 day cruise.I know it must be really hard working in the same office as far as time off goes.It sounds like Mason had a great time at Busch Gardens.Charlie's favorite place besides Disney. He love the Montu.I haven't dared to ride it.

Hey, Maria and Charlie!!!!!!!

Hey, I missed you guys. :Pinkbounc

I'm sorry to hear about Charlie's job. I hate to hear things like that...it's not fair. We are so ready as always to go cruising...but we have to see about dates and of course the $$$$. Wille, I like to see about RCCL...it's cheaper but I hear it's pretty good. I think my nephew just went on RCCL during Easter and he loved it. He went to the Eastern Carribean.

John and I are trying to get the new business going and hopefully we can plan a cruise next year.

Let's see....um, LAMPY!!!! You said, you and/or Kim are going to KY in July...maybe you guys like to stop by for a visit...let us know.

Gotta go, run kids to places.

Julia :thumbsup2

We miss you all as well as the others. We need to cruise again together. Thanks Julia for your kind words! No,it isn't fair. Some of his excoworkers called today to see how he was,and if he had any luck. They haven't found anything either.Time shall tell!Congrats on starting a new business.I am sure it will go well.Keep us posted.

When I talked the cm this weekend about Thanksgiving 2007,they informed me that it would be going to Key West which I finally hard to belief as they usually don't do some of boat race there.Have you all heard anything about that?THanks!

Maria

What??!! :furious: They are not going to do the Castaway twice during Thanksgiving 07? Maria, did they mentioned that Key West will not have their boat race anymore or just that time? John and I would really like to go Eastern, only because we have not been there so we have a lot of thinking to do and save money. :rolleyes2

Mickeyhugger: I haven't talked to you in awhile...what's up?! :) Are you planning on going to any Disney Adventures...cruises, WDW, etc? I have not been reading the beginning of this thread...so I haven't been able to know what's happening to everyone. How is everyone in your family?

Gotta go....need to go outside to do more yard work. John has a great excuse for not joining with me....he is HIGHLY allergic to poison ivy...ssoooo, I get my work out doing yard work.

See ya all later.
