Our family has really enjoyed Storyteller's Cafe buffet meal for Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know your daughter's preferences, so I'm not sure how that will go over as a birthday thing. I know DS9 and DS10 (almost 11) really enjoy the food and experience. No characters, but the ambiance is great for a happy holiday meal. My boys also love Goofy's, but to them it's not "right" for a holiday meal.
On another note, I always remember being a little annoyed as a kid with a Thanksgiving birthday that the meal wasn't something more of my choosing and taste. I've mostly gotten over that now as an adult. But, anyway, you may want to consider having two special meals so you can have a traditional Thanksgiving on the right day and a special birthday meal the day before or after. If cost is an issue, you will find that many restaurants in and around Disneyland offer a traditional turkey day meal that is not all-you-can-eat but that is less expensive than Storyteller's or Goofy's. Carnation Cafe and Plaza Inn spring to mind.

We did our Turkey Dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and OMG I want to go again this year.....LOL It was so good!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) We would do a bday dinner separately if they fell on the same day, we would do our Turkey Dinner and then let the bday person chose where to eat and what day to do it. :)

Can you share some details? I might be interested. Did they have a special menu, all you can eat, or what? Was there dessert? What was the cost? Thanks in advance.
