We are leaving in 3 days and I wanted to say thanks for the help and resources I received on this page. DD fractured her ankle 6 weeks ago (and has had issues with her ankle and walking for 1 1/2 years). She had a doctor appointment yesterday and she will not have to be in a cast for the trip!!!! She will be able to walk on a limited basis. Of course, she won't be able to handle 10 days of walking just yet. We have rented a pediatric wheelchair locally and will bring it with us, thanks to recommendations made her. I got it a few days ago to get her used to using it. It is so much more comfortable than the ones we had to rent for her at amusement parks over the summer and has adjustable leg lifts that will be useful when her ankle swells. I am hopeful that being at Disney will allow her to heal faster - that she will be distracted from the pain and able to get some of her strength back. At the very least it will be more fun than her regular PT! :santa:

My prayers to your DD that she has an awesome trip to see Mickey. Good luck to all of you.

Good luck on your trip and you have my prayers. I read many great things here about kids and adults who to the unthinkable like talking, walking or socializing so I do believe in WDW magic moments.

Have fun and dont forget to decorate the chair with a bit of disney stuff. Have fun and eat a turkey leg and popcorn for me.:rolleyes1

That's another reason I picked up the chair early (and it was useful for last minute trip shopping this last weekend) - had to see what decorations would fit and how to attach them. I don't do the turkey legs - so I will double up on popcorn for you! :thumbsup2 popcorn:: popcorn::

Thanks to both of you for your kind thoughts and prayers!

We had to change our dates and lost our ADR's :guilty: and I have yet to get back into CRT, but DD princess: is so excited at the thought of being able to walk at Disney :yay: (this has been such a long time in coming) that it won't matter if we get to eat there or not. :wizard:

Good luck on the reservations. Keep trying and if nothing else try going during the off hour meal times. 11 am is quiet then noon CHARGE, people are starving. There are lots of fun counter service places but I have found across America that people tend to eat at the same time, lol. I love popcorn more than turkey legs.

Under the Tuscan Sun has a scene about butterflies that I will always remember sort of. You spend all day searching for butterflies until you fall asleep on the meadow. When you wake you find yourself covered with butterflies. Break throughs and miracles are like that in that they just magically happen when you are least suspecting them.
