With the help of Dan Murphy, I was able to post this picture of my DD Stephanie at her recent cheerleading competition..where they became National Champs in the Small Junior Advanced Division!!

GREAT stunt!! how old is she?My DD is on a cheer competition squad also! It is so much fun!! They are Mini allstar division. they are 2nd grade and under. our first BIg competition is the end of this month at the hard rock live (NCA) My DD is a base!! (thanks goodness!!

Stephanie is 12. Her younger sisters (7 and 5) are also on the Mini team at her gym!! They don't travel to compete though!! What team is your DD on?? Good luck to her...

It is fun to watch and I am still in awe evertime I see her go up in a stunt and double twist out!! YIKES!! I am glad the other 2 are bases so far!!!

What a great picture! Her form is beautiful. My daughter is in 8th grade and cheers for her school squad. Their competitions are coming up in Feb and March so the pressure is on right now for perfection. SHe is a base and has just been put on the tumbling team! Lots of hard work went into that too! I love to see these girls compete , many don't understand the amount of hours and dedication it takes to make that stunt perfect. Your daughter nailed that one for sure! Congrats!!

Rosemary - What a great picture of your daughter. My step-daughters are both all-star cheerleaders. Oldest is 13 and a base, youngest is 8 and a flyer. They have their first competition this afternoon, and then every weekend until 2/27 when we head to WOS for Nationals. Good luck to your daughter's squad!!

Wow, seeing this picture makes me realize just how much more difficult cheerleading is than it was when I was a cheerleader about 100 years ago. Back then if you could do the splits and a cartwheel, and you had the ability to be smiley and peppy, you could be a cheerleader. Now these kids need to be real athletes.

Rosemary-- Our cheerleaders are national champs (both co-ed and all girl squads). I have friends on both and they love it! It's very time consuming and most cheerleaders only do it their first two years of school. Tell her to keep up the hard work!

Thanks Mandy, I will show her this post!! We saw the all girl squad at Daytona Beach a few years back and she was in awe!!

Cheering is very time consuming and Stephanie absolutely loves it!!! WE met a Tampa Bay Buc cheerleader who cheered for UofL and she was so inspiring to Stephanie.....it was great!
