I just want to send out a big shout of thanks to the Disboards and especially the transportaion forum. I never thought of rechecking my car rental for lower rates before I go or using any of the many codes on this forum. I decided to give it a try using a code and coupon from Visa Card with Alamo that I found on a post here....I have saved myself $80!

Thanks so much for all the information you all share on here...it is fantastic for anyone wanting to save a little money.

Don't know how far off your trip is but don't stop checking, even multiple times a day if you can, you never know when a rate will change and sometimes it's only for a day or less, that has been my experience with Alamo which I use quite often.
Also it's sometimes good to use different combinations of codes and IDs.

My rental with Alamo has dropped tremendously over the last few months. On Tues the Alamo Code for 20% off Florida rentals was extended thru Dec 7. Combine this with the Insiders $35 off coupon and you may end up with a better rate than the Visa Id and discount. At least it was better for me for my dates, 11/26 - 12/1. If you are not an Alamo Insider you can join for free.
