I just wanted to send a big thank you to everyone who has answered my strange questions, and also send thanks to the kind people that prepared all the stickies. I have been pouring over everything in the last few months as I plan this extraordinary trip.

I am so eager to visit France- I am also lucky enough to go to Normandy on this trip. Without all the answers I have gotten on these boards, I would still be a bit unprepared.

While I am not at all nervous about taking my American Disney ideas to another country, I had some questions about some petty strange stuff. I normally wouldn't care, but I am taking my elderly mother with me, so i am trying to be over prepared and "smooth" her way.

I have tried to read every tip I can find on NOT being an ugly American, I have been practicing being more formal, I have realized that DLP will be different in many ways than my typical experience.

But I do have one question: WHAT is a hyper-market? I hear that phrase referred to everytime I read about the great grocery store in Val D'Europe.

Maybe I will see some of you over there!

A hypermarket is just a very large Supermarket /Grocery store - which sells a lot more than groceries. Think large Walmart and you will have it

Hope you have a fantastic trip and that you enjoy both DLP and France. :goodvibes

I wonder how on earth we managed in the days before the internet? :confused3

Hope you have a great trip, would love to hear about it all when you return :goodvibes

Ware Bears - I guess they used letters, telegrams, guide books and travel agents more. I can't imagine planning a trip without internet access.

"A whole new world..."

There is so little info over here about DLP. I've talked to travel agents that didn't know DLP existed. In all the bookstores I've been to I found exactly one book that had anything about DLP and it was a Frommers book called something like A Family's Guide to Paris and Disneyland and the Disneyland part was maybe 20 pages. There is even less info available Tokyo or Hong Kong Disneyland. Without the internet you're absolutely flying blind.
