We stayed at the Poly 10/25 til yesterday and thanks to you I asked for a room in the Tahiti longhouse and it was great. We got room 1028. I wanted the first floor cuz we had 2 strollers and I wanted my son to be able to play outside a bit. We sat out on the swing to watch the fireworks and the EWP and it was really special. Next time I may ask for a second or third floor room, so you can see over the bushes - 1028 had a great view but just a few doors down could have been questionable. It was a little noisy, though, with a utility closet next to and across from the room, plus the elevator nearby, but it was worth it. I only noticed the noises cuz I was up all hours of the night with my little one - anyone else probably would have missed it.

But thanks for all your information - your site was a big help! I love to check out new resorts, but the Poly will be hard to top!

I am glad you had a good time. So you were in the room right next to the main entrance to the building from the beach?

If you are speaking of the rooms on the other side of the path, yes they are very blocked by bushes and trees. I was in the room 2nd floor just on the other side of the walkway (2029) and I asked if there where any other lagoon view rooms. They ended up putting us in Tuvalu with a great view but I like the Tahiti building and location better.

Thanks for letting me know how your trip was.

We just got back from the Poly also. We had a great trip and I don't know if I will stay at any other resorts now. We booked a garden view and we received a room in Rarotonga (room 1824).

LOL :rotfl:

Rarotonga is a great location! Close to everything! I have heard negative things about this longhouse since it overlooks the parking lot, but we never saw it from our window. Beautiful landscaping and a nice view of the monorail going by.

There are not many views of the parking lot but the parking lot views are quite nice. ;)
