I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and pixie dust while I was in the hospital. I came home a couple of days ago and have been resting quietly with my family. My doctors say that I was very lucky on two counts; one - my case of GBS was mild and two - I got to the hospital quickly enough so that treatments could be started right away. My doctors say that I have a long road ahead of me and that I have to be patient (that was not a word in my vocabulary before I became sick)! Unfortunately, this past Friday I found out how long that road is going to be when the left side of my face was hit with a dose of Bell's Palsy. I will be going to therapy to improve my eyesight and to help get my coordination back in my hands. If all goes well and I follow doctor's orders I should be back to full health in the near future. Thankfully, though, I have achieved one goal and that was to be out of the hospital by Christmas so that I could be home with my family! So once again thanks for all your positive thoughts. I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday season! God bless us one and all
