Thanks for the insight into Hertz

I have only used National at MCO, and virtually everywhere my travels have taken me, ever since hearing about them and EA and EC here on the DIS back in '99 before our first family trip to the World. And I have ALWAYS been VERY happy.

Hanging out here on the Transportation board over the past weeks, prior to my trip I just came back last night from, I read about Hertz and that they were good too. I checked them over, found a site to sign up for #1 Club Gold for free, and used some GREAT discounts and offers.

I had a midsized confirmed, 3 full days, all taxes and charges, $29.95. When I got there, they bumped me to a full size (Taurus) and I found the rate was $19.20, TOTAL, (I misread the coupon offer), $9.33 for taxes and fees, $9.87 for Hertz.

The experience was great. Shuttle right at the terminal door (saved me the walk and schlep into the garage), dropped right off a the curbside for checkin on my return. I did have to do an initial, one-time counter checkin (to activate the #1 Club Gold) but hence would be dropped right by car. Only downside, not being able to pick car, but I think if you said you did not like what the yassigned, the ywould take good care of you. The place is huge.

Dan, glad to hear you had a good Hertz experience. They are very good about changing the car if you don't like it. You can also have requests put in your profile if you don't like a certain type of car.

I'm glad to see another Hertz "convert."
The first time I got them through Priceline, I was very unhappy to have to go off site. I HATE shuttles! But the experience was totally painless then, and it has been the same on all the other occasions I've gotten them. The bus is always right there waiting (okay, once I had to wait all of a minute while it pulled up to the curb). The line is usually short, and when it's not, they are well staffed to handle the crowd. We've gotten several upgrades, too. Now I'm always glad when I bid and it comes up Hertz.
