Just wanted to thank all the regulars around here! I did a lot of lurking before my trip, and your advice was invaluable for making US and IOA a fabulous experience. I know Disney like the back of my hand, but it's been years since I've gone to Universal and things have changed a lot. I wouldn't even have known where to have started without all the help here. My grandmother, my bff and I were at RPR 4/6 and 4/7 and had almost three full days in the parks before moving over to Disney on 4/8. (We had to take a break on the 8th to go watch my cousin's HS band play at CityWalk
) We really enjoyed both parks. US brought back so many childhood memories (I very nearly cried in line for E.T because I remembered it so vividly from when I was younger). Also, Harry Potter was phenomenal! I'm almost 30, and my bff and I stood under the entrance sign for Hogsmeade and danced around in a circle squealing like little girls! I've read over and over how the CM's at Universal aren't as friendly as the ones at Disney, and we didn't find that to be the case at all! We had fabulous interactions with people all over both parks, but especially in Hogsmeade (I think possibly because they could tell we were so into it). In fact, one of the girls behind the counter in Honeydukes noticed our Harry Potter pedicures when she was getting our cauldron cakes (mine was Gryffindor, bff had Ravenclaw on one foot (with a Deathly Hallow symbol on her big toe) and Slytherin on the other foot) and when we got the the cash register to pay for them, she had drawn Deathly Hallow symbols and smiley faces on our boxes
Also, my grandmother has to use a scooter to get around the parks and everyone was just fabulous with her, which I really appreciated because she's a little self conscious about the scooter. The CM's at FJ even let us use the "express line" the time she rode it with us which was very unexpected and very appreciated. Anyway, I'll stop with the rambling, just wanted to thank everyone for all the very useful advice and let you know what an absolutely amazing trip it was!
