Thanks for all the fireworks advice! - More pics added!

I just came back from WDW, and after reading this board and searching for all the info here I could find about taking good fireworks shots, I was successful! At least IMHO I was. I had taken OK shots of the fireworks on previous trips, but these are just so much better, and I think that I will have even more luck in the future. On the night I took this, the smoke was actually blowing towards us, in front of the castle, which did mess up quite a few shots, but there was nothing I could do about it. The castle and fireworks were actually obstructed by the smoke. And it was overcast! But here is one of the shots I was quite happy with. I will try to post more later. If anyone has any suggestions or critique, please feel free to post. I am still learning and can use all the help I can get.

Of course not! All the info posted here helped me a great deal, so I am happy to share! For all the shots I took that night, the only thing that varied was the shutter speed. I have the Canon Rebel XT, I just got the Canon 28-135mm IS lens and a Hoya HMC Pro UV filter. (I think that is right anyway.) I also used a tripod and a remote shutter release. I used manual mode, ISO 100, aperature f/8, and the shutter varied anywhere from a fraction of a second to 6 or 8 seconds, I think. That particular shot was probably somewhere in between. I am not at home right now, so I am going from memory here. I was set up in the middle of Main Street at the end closest to the castle.

Actually, I would be Da-Woman. I realize my avatar says I am married to a pretty pretty princess, but that is a long story and is related to the online Disney game, Virtual Magic Kingdom.

No problem! I wasn't even sure if you were being gender specific, but I realized that my avatar might be confusing to those who don't know me from the other board.

OK, I have more pics uploaded now. I just need to choose. I think the one I already posted was my favorite, but I have more. Hmmmm...
Well, here is an example of the smoke moving towards us. The burst was actually partially blocked by it. And it was moving in front of the castle too.
