I'm no longer able to enjoy the shows live, so I'm just now watching this week's show, and you're discussing your favorite moments from 2015.

And as I'm listening, it strikes me just how tough 2015 has been for me. But one of the things that has consistently brought me enjoyment and entertainment has been tuning in(live or delayed) for the three shows you all put together each week.

I'll probably never be able to make it to a cruise/party/DAP/etc. to share my appreciation in person, but I want you all to be reminded that what you do matters. There were a lot of difficult weeks for me this year, but you all helped me through them.

So thanks. And Merry Christmas. And Happy New Year. And I'm just happy to be here. And stay out of the damn zero-entry pool.

Sorry to hear of your tough year @KingLlama - hope 2016 is better for you!

And I don't think it is too tough to stay out of the zero-entry pools, I mean, zero-entry, therefore you cannot enter them ;)

I totally agree with everything King Llama said, and I can't say it any better - or - I could TRY to, but I won't even embarrass myself by trying. :) Anyway I've said it before, and I'll echo it again - yes, was a tough year for me too, and what helped me get through a LOT of the tough times was listening to the show, and talking to others about it here. REALLY means a lot to me, as others who know me know, and everybody asks when I wear my Dis Unplugged shirt. :) Thank you - to ALL of you - (and I mean to all my fellow posters too) for WHO you are, and WHAT you do. You have made my life a better place to be because of YOU!!

Sorry to hear you're had a tough year @KingLlama and if it's any consolation, your humour and wit is truly appreciated here, and I'd never have guessed you'd been having a hard time, you certainly bring a smile to all of our faces, even if there isn't one on yours.

I share the sentiment that I doubt I'll ever convince my DH to take a trip around a DIS event, so I'm not sure i'll get to meet the team (unless I can wrangle a couple into a catch up when I come up next) and I just don't know how to share the gratitude I feel for all that they do to bring Disney into my home and car, and for keeping it real for me, when I'm so many thousands of kilometres away.

I'm looking forward to the few shows the team have put together for us between now and Christmas, they certainly didn't have to, but they have and I'm sure I speak for us all when I say that we appreciate that extra "above and beyond" effort.

Are you being serious, or just kidding again? ;)

100 percent completely serious.

Helped get me through a scary medical emergency/surgery/hospital stay. Would lay in my hospital bed and listen to the shows on my phone.

Helped me on the day we buried one of my best friends(I conducted the funeral). Came home completely wiped out(emotionally/physically/mentally/etc.). It was a Tuesday afternoon. That show was a godsend that day.

On a lighter note, the shows have also helped me keep my sanity during workdays at a job which often tries to rob me of my sanity. Putting on my headphones and listening to these shows have gotten me through many a rough day at my desk.

In 2014(when I first discovered the shows), I ENJOYED them. But in 2015, there were many times I NEEDED them.

So thanks.

Amen, King Llama! I feel the same way you do, and for many of the same reasons, which I won't go into, but I do. And I just wanted to say that I hope 2016 brings a MUCH better year for you. And also - do you know how many times YOU have put a smile on MY face here? See - sometimes karma ain't just that word that starts with a "b". :) (And nobody start guessing what it is....I'll give you a clue....it ain't banana!) :)

I agree! I'm feeling very blessed that 2015 has been a pretty good year for me ... but I've had my share of difficult ones. If I'd had the podcast then, I would have definitely counted it as blessing! As it is, over the past year I went from being a teacher surrounded by noise and chatter to working in my bake shop almost completely alone most of the time. It terms of companionship - I am so very grateful to have found a wonderful group (podcast AND the boards) to pass the hours with.

But I'd also like to second your thoughts about Llama, I think he is hilarious. :teeth: (But I'm bound by KYPride paw: to say that, so...take it for what it's worth):P

Wishing you the best for the New Year, King Llama! Its got to get better. :-) You've given us so many chuckles and giggles over the year with your quick wit that its a shock to hear that you've been going through a tough time. Just goes to show how much the DIS and the friends we make on the Boards help us week in and week out. Others may never know what we are going through. But just having this escape from reality and allowing us to get out of our heads and worries for a few hrs each week is priceless and so very much appreciated. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and all the very best for the New Year 2016 to all our friends on the Boards!

Great post, King Llama! Here's wishing you a great 2016. I second what Jes said about appreciating your contributions to the boards, too.

I listened to the Year in Review show yesterday and today. I will admit that even though I was at the Hershey meet, I cried just as much listening to it again as I did when I was there, especially JL's story. That killed us.

Happy holidays to all. Thank you to the team for all they do. Certainly some of the high points of my 2015 were the DIS meets I got to attend, spending time with the team, and meeting so many great new friends. I hope 2016 is an awesome year for all!

Kathy always makes me tear up with her story. It's sad but look how well she handled it. Look at her children and her grandchildren, she certainly did a great job, despite losing Fran. She's a strong and wonderful woman.

And JLs story had me bawling. Even listening to it again.
I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like.
But again, a strong, wonderful woman got through it and her kids are bright and wonderful little tween/teens.

It's been a trying year, but certainly not as bad as some, so for that, I'm thankful.
It's going to be a wonderful Christmas for my family, with Leigh's dad being back on track and doing famously.

Thank you again to the team and also to all my new friends here, you've been wonderful and I look forward to 2016 and getting to know you all better! And hopefully seeing some of you when I get back over there in September

I just again at dinner that maybe we can find our way down there in September.

DD was asking about that person who posted on my facebook page today who lived far away. She was wondering how I knew you. She got that it was Disney-related but didn't know exactly.

Well you do have that AP that needs using!

Not that I think it would actually be a factor in anyone's planning next year, but I am thinking of doing a PTR/TR and will post links here (or perhaps post it here? who knows) so if anyone is in town when we are, it would be cool to have an afternoon or evening to have a dinner or drinks etc.

Yep, it'll still be good in September.

If we actually get there, I am absolutely buying you a drink!

Sorry but what is PTR/TR?

Ok. That's what I thought. Wasn't quite sure how that connected with meeting up. I guess you meant that we'd become part of your report.
Well more that I'd be putting the dates out there and if people were planning a trip around that time, or whatever, would know and we could catch up!

Gotcha. Sorry, I'm a little slow tonight. :tilt:
Did you start those drinks early? lol.
Also, I caught up with a friend yesterday and she informs me that Hanukkah finished on Sunday, so I hope you had a wonderful Hanukkah (have I spelled that right?)

Yes, so many many strong amazing people on the Disboards who inspire me and help me be strong. Listening to the podcasts truly gets me through my weeks sometimes. Last year my daughter, with 'now' 5 year old twins, and expecting new twins (now here), found it necessary to move back home. To say it changed our lives is an understatement, good things and not so good. We were semi-retired, empty nesters for 15 years, so this change is 'life changing'. The Disboards has gotten me through many tough days.
