I have been reading the posts for months. Any questions I could think of were always answered before I even thought of them. Thanks to all for:
Loews First: signed up and got the welcome Fruit basket, also used AAA for the discount.
FOTL: It is worth it! We had a blast being able to go as many times as we wanted. You spend a fortune on airfare for a vacation. The time savings is an investment in quality family time we will always remember. We did feel like VIPS.
Mythos recommendation: Probably would have walked right by. Had a great lunch. Kitty was great with my newly vegetarian daughter. She sat down next to her and helped her plan a pasta meal that was fantastic. I love this place. Portions aren't overly huge so you have to waddle out. We loved the the small desserts for $1.75. Nice idea. What a fun atmosphere.
Horror Make-Up Show: Would have walked by this also. You can't miss this one. What a riot!
MIB999999: We didn't look at the hints until after our first day through. Then the addiction set in. Only problem was that I printed out what I thought was the whole thing, but only ended up with half. Will be reading the rest tonight. This is one of the most fun rides ever. We never came close to his high scores, but it didn't matter. Going for your own personal best is so fun. We enjoyed single rider at the end because you are only limited by how fast you can walk back in. No wait at all.
Margaritaville: Last Mango in Paris is the best margarita I have ever had!
We are complete Universal/IOA people. This place is about not taking things too seriously and just having fun.
We loved:
HRH and the music everywhere. We have a 20 yr old and 14 yr old. Perfect ages for this hotel, and everything Universal. Temperature controls in the rooms really worked. How do people in Florida go from HOT/HUMID to ICE COLD so easily. Restaurants and stores seem to be freezing all the time. We
enjoyed being able to pick a normal temp. for the room. Flat screen TV was cool. Beautiful pool. We did get lost trying to go to Universal and ended up on the inside track up to the slide, oh well. Beautiful walk to Universal, once we figured it out.
Enjoyed Mummy, MIB and Horror Make Up Show best at Universal.
IOA: Spiderman, Dr. Doom, Jurassic Park ( When they way hold on to your hats, do it. My daughter lost her Kennedy Space Center cap on the way down. Happy ending it ended up in the lap of the woman behind her.) Dudley, and Ice more the Fire. Hulk is fun, but it gave most of us a headache. Seuss is incredible to walk through. We all enjoyed waving at the children in the restaurant from the train above. They all got so excited, it made us smile.
BLUE MAN GROUP: This we did last night before leaving. They fit in so well with Universal. Just the right kind of humor. I highly recommend going. We sat in the poncho section, row 2. I don't think anyone around us needed the ponchos, though. Thought we might get messy, but no. That was the only disappointing part, otherwise the show was a great way to end a fabulous vacation.
We also made it to Cocoa Beach for the launch of Atlantis. That I won't soon forget. The cheer of the crowd when we saw it gave me goosebumps.
I wish the crew well on their return.
Also thank you Teva sandles. My pedometer read Sat. 21,000 steps, Sun. 22,000, and Mon. 24,000.
Did a day trip to Epcot, but it didn't feel as much like home. Also canoed the river at Juniper Springs (about an hour and a half north of Orlando). We are from the Land of 10,000 Lakes and were quite confident in our canoeing skills up until that day. We swamped one canoe and almost the second. When they tell you not to wade in the water at all because of alligators, this starts to flash to the Jurassic Park ride gone horribly wrong. We survived. Be prepared to duck and swerve for 4 hours.
I think I'm tired now. Thanks again to all who take the time to write here.
