Thanks Disney!!

Unfortunately, we made the decision to cancel our Disney NJ teacher's convention vacation the other day and Disney was wonderfully understanding. We came through Sandy with no property loss, however our kids missed 3 days of school due to the storm, and with the NJ Teacher's Convention cancelled, our school district decided on Friday to make up 2 of the days during our planned vacation. We personally did not want our kids to miss any more school days, so we decided to cancel. First call was to Disney. They let us cancel our vacation and our points did not go into holding, and even the points that we borrowed were returned to next year. Classy on their part. So props to Disney for being the kind of considerate company that they are. Luckily our flights were with Southwest so no change fees but still trying to figure out how to use our credits before they expire.

Our hearts still go out to our fellow NJ, NY and CT neighbors who are still without power and have so much cleanup still to do. We will stand by you.
 
I'm glad that they were understanding and you were able to get the points. We are all in the same boat with cleanup after this storm. Our power was restored Saturday afternoon, 6 days and it was brutally cold. Kiddos lost 5 days of school so far and waiting to see about tomorrow. A Nor'Easter heading this way and hearts, prayers, and hugs go out to everyone effected by this storm. Glad to hear you are safe though.
 
We were in Disney last week and decided to leave 1 day early as we were driving home to New Jersey. We left Sunday instead of Monday to try to beat the hurricane which was due to hit on Monday. They refunded our points for the night, but put them in holding. When I got home, I called to request they apply them to a reservation I have for February, which they did with no problem. It was truly appreciated!
 
That is typical Disney style and why I am a very happy DVC owner:cool1:. I was scheduled to be at BWV for a 3 night stay starting on 9/13/2001. I live in NY and so I called to cancel expecting that the points would be in put into holding. Needless to say they were put back into my use year as if the reservation never happend and a month or so later a package arrived with two Mickey flag pins with 9/11/2001 engraved on the back and a piece of Disney letterhead that simply read: Just Because:thumbsup2. That's Disney!!
 

I'm glad to hear that DVC MS is and has been so understanding of the hardships caused by Sandy.

I too have benefited in the past from their good customer service approach to doing business.
 
I was hoping that I would read some posts like this after the storm.
