First, a big thanks to Disboards! Because of your helpful comments, we changed our flights so that we can arrive the night before we sail! That's a relief -- no worrying about missing the boat!

But, we have already paid for DCL transfers from the airport. So, we need to stay near the airport. And, frankly, this is not the part of our trip where I am planning to drop the big bucks. So, what places very near to the airport would you suggest? Preferably under $100/night (though I'm flexible within reason, of course). I've heard good things about the Hyatt and they seem to offer some good discounts. Any place else I should consider? Want to be as close to the airport as possible since we plan to be on that first bus out to the port!

Thanks again!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Try priceline.com or one of the other website similiar to this one.
I got Holiday Inn Select Airport for $40 plus tax.

We stayed at Comfort Inn (they're also listed under 'Sleep Inn') near the airport, two years in a row.

They have their own shuttle to and from the airport, and we were on the first Disney bus each time!

I don't remember what the price was last year, (I think 69.00)

The rooms were nice and clean, and a continental breakfast was included.

We stayed at the Best Western Airport Inn & Suites on Aircenter Court in Sept.
Got a great rate of $55 for family of 4 thru HotelWiz.com.
Very nice hotel, clean nice continental breakfast and friendly staff.
We will be staying there again in 2005.
They also have free Hotel shuttle to and from the airport.
There are more than 1 Best Western's near the airport so make sure to verify the address its 8101 Aircenter Court.

good luck

Thanks to all of you!! I really appreciate all of this helpful advice. So great to hear about these clean, decent nearby motels available for such cheap prices! Excellent! I really do want to save my money for souvenirs and margaritas -- and this advice will really help. THANK YOU!! I'm going to try and book something this evening.

Barb is the guru at this, she has gotten the Mariott for $28 + taxes from priceline countless times. visit biddingfortravel.com to get bids (prices) people have gotten for the dates you want to travel. remember to bid 3 stars at the MCO airport otherwise you might get not so nice LaQuinta.

Is the Marriot an especially good location? My biggest concern is being very close. I would settle for a free shuttle, but being in the airport or something similar would be best.

If you can afford it I would recommend the Hyatt. It is right at the airport and the next morning before your cruise, you set your bags out by your door and then catch the DCL bus at your convenience. By doing this you do not have to worry about shuttling back and forth from the airport to your off airport site hotel. A little pricey I admit, but it is a convenience (worth it to some and not worth it to others). - Mike

We stayed at The Renissance Hotel for $35 on priceline.com. It was a beautiful 3 star hotel right near the airport. We loved it. The room was huge and the beds were really comfy!! :earsgirl:

The Marriott is right close by, in the same area as the Renaissance (which I've also gotten for $28) and Holiday Inn Select (which I've gotten in the upper 30s). As Tony said, BID THE TOP STAR LEVEL!!! The LaQuinta Suites is fine, but I wouldn's wish that other LaQuinta on my worst enemy. Too bad, as the other hotels one category are fine, and many have free continental breakfast. In theory the LaQuinta does, too, but there was no food even thought we came down early on one of our stays there. While waiting to check out for half an hour (no desk clerk), I saw why...the employees were literally taking all the food out to their cars. When the desk clerk finally appeared after half an hour, she said she brings her kids to work and was busy taking care of them.

I've stayed at the Quality Inn Airport on McCoy Rd. and have been satisfied with the rooms and service there. Complimentary evening cocktails and continental breakfast, also website states "Courtesy Airport Transportation FROM Airport is 24 hours. Transportation TO Airport is 4:00am - NOON (every hour). Pt. Canaveral Transportation: 35.00/person roundtrip".
The AAA rate for 2 Queen is $59.39. (Just not much of a pool). I've never used their shuttle since I drive so can't give an opinion there.

CAMICKEY -- So the Hyatt staff takes your bags to the DCL bus? I'm not sure that I follow you.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn near MCO. It was reasonably priced (not as cheap as Priceline ones, but we needed a guarantee of 2 rooms near each other, and one of those sleeping 4 people)--maybe about $65?--had a free airport shuttle, and provides a good breakfast in the a.m. that I'd describe as "continental plus." I think we used the AAA rate, found on their website.
