My catered event at UK pubside was BY FAR the best thing that we did (maybe besides the wedding!)! It was so much fun. I just wish Illuminations was longer so I could have enjoyed it for a longer time! It was my family, the family we travelled with, and two friends who live in FL. One works for Disney and never has done a catered event and she loved it. I wanted to say thank you to her for booking our room for us. We did a dessert party and everything was great. As with all things Disney, it was pricey in the end between venue fee, drinks billed on consumption, taxes etc. However, I will TOTALLY do it again! I'm thinking an anniversary dinner. I can EASILY get to the $250 minimum expenditure with just the two of us. For just desserts and drinks, I spent >$600 for 10 people. Oh and I got a Mickey cake and brought it home, in hopes of eating it on our first anniversary.
As a side note, on our wedding day, October 11th, the small patio at Fantasmic was open. When I first emailed catering and said I either wanted Fantasmic on the 11th or Illuminations on the 13th, they said "The 13th is available" and said nothing about the 11th. I believe I read somewhere on here that they're discouraging small groups?
