Thankful & Blessed Free Upgrade at Hilton Head

Wow - what a great surprise/treat. We checked in this morning. Not only was our villa ready, but we were upgraded from a studio to a 1BDR. I was so thankful and really appreciate it. The CM felt my excitement and how much I appreciated it. When I questioned if the resort was full, were there studios out of inventory, etc., she said it could be for any number of reasons and to just enjoy it.

We are here for five nights - will definitely love, enjoy and appreciate the extra space. These upgrades for whatever reason don't happen often!!!

Stopped in Kroger in the next shopping plaza to pick up a few items - beautiful supermarket and had dinner at the Sea Shack tonite.

Weather is beautiful. Looking forward to relaxing.

Congratulations on the upgrade! You're really spoiled now! That's the one place where I believe "Once you try a 1 BR, you'll never go back to a studio." DH and I have done 1 BRs at other resorts, then studios at the other resorts. But the 1 BRs at HHI are so great-the front entryway with the bench for starters. Enjoy, and enjoy your trip!

Since it is usually now just hubby and I, studios are fine. We have talked recently about staying in a 1 BDR when we are staying anywhere more than 4 nights. This does spoil you. I believe when staying at HH or Vero - the extra space is nice since I think more time is spent in the room/resort than WDW.

Watch out later this week, the tropics are heating up, a storm (low pressure area that has a 40% chance of becoming Ana) is brewing off Fla/Bahamas and will be moving up the coast. It will mostly likely bend out-to-sea but keep an eye on the weather to be sure.

Congrats Anna! What a wonderful surprise! We're going for our first HHI trip next month. Did you do online check in? I've read there is a greater possibility of getting an upgrade if you don't use online check in.

Yes, I did on-line check in. Enjoy your stay soon!! This is the first time in 15 years we have received a free upgrade. Nice surprise/treat & no, I checked, they did not touch points. Weather was great everyday too. Only one day - cloudy and rained a few hours.
