Thank you to you all for your great tips and information meaning that our second holiday of a lifetime ;) was better than the first!

We got back yesterday morning and I came complete with a streaming cold but even that can't get me down. We stayed for 3 weeks at ASMo and although Orlando experienced its worst weather for 8 years (roughly 16 inches of rain in August!!! ) we had a fabulous time.

The particular highlight of this trip for me was the Trainer for a Day programme at Discovery Cove. This was a magical experience - I would travel to Orlando just to do this. However you have to be interested in all the animals there to make it worth the price tag as you don't spend all day with the dolphins.

Other highlights included an Illuminations cruise on the Breathless (we felt like royalty:p ), dinner with Pooh and friends at The Crystal Palace in MK, Mission Space (WOW is all I can say) and the Mall at Millennia (Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Macys, Bloomingdales and so on - okay so I was only looking but it's nice to dream ;)). We also went to the new dinner show Tony and Tina's Wedding. If any of you are planning to do this, make sure that nobody in your party gets easily embarrassed by audience participation. They don't humiliate you in front of everyone but it is what you make it as it hinges on everyone joining in. The basic idea is that you are a guest at Tony and Tina's wedding and you're either on the groom's side or the bride's side. The families are played by a group of actors and are the most dysfunctional families you are ever likely to meet. It takes a bit of getting used to but we had a ball. Think My Big Fat Greek Wedding multiplied by a factor of 10!!

The only minor negative things we found were 1 very unhelpful CM in MK,who was insistent that there was no such thing as a PAL format for videos, and thoughtless theme park guests. Why do people come and stand in front of you at parades at the very last minute when it's obvious you can't see a thing? What is so terrible about sitting on the ground? Let's face it, the parks are so clean you could almost eat your dinner off the pavements.

The only problem left is that we saw Wilderness Lodge for the very first time and now we're in love! We also decided that after two bad flights (the child from hell on the way out who was obsessed with reclining seats and a sleepless trip home when the family behind us decided that it was a good time for a party!) in Virgin Economy that Premium Economy is the only way to go. I can see I'm going to have to start saving pretty hard!

Anyway, thanks again to the most clued-up Disneyaholics around. I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Hi,

Tony and Tina's Wedding sounds like good fun, where is it please, and what type of food do they serve?

Where is the Mall at Millennia please? (so I can try and avoid it if possible - it sounds like a very expensive paradise for my DD).

We'll be taking our first trip to WDW next year, so I'm busy gathering information.

Thanks

Lynn

Hi Edie

Welcome home

Sounds like you had a great time.

Which building did you stay in at ASMo's? We stayed in Dalmatians and loved it:D

Hi Edie,

Great to hear back about your holiday,it sounds wonderful:p

I had tickets to see Tony'NTina in October and just received an e-mail to say the show is closing in September,so I had to get a refund:(

Hi everyone,

Well I'm sorry to hear Tony and Tina's is closing but I suppose it's not to everyone's tastes. Lynn, it is at the Soulfire Theatre next to Lake Buena Vista factory outlets but it sounds like you'll have to get there soon. I'm not exactly sure where the Mall at Millennia is as we went on the Virgin shopping spree and they do all the driving. They do have some of the more reasonably priced stores there such as Gap and Claire's Accesories so it might not be as bad as you think.

Squitty, we were in Toy Story with Woody. It looks like they are planning a rehab of ASMo as when we left several of the stairwells were blocked off whilst painting was going on, the Dalamations buildings lift areas were full of boxes, there was a hydraulic lift outside of the Fantasia 2000 building and we saw several managers wandering around looking closely at all the buildings. We also saw the managers in the food court discussing the food court and the staff at length, not that I was listening you understand ;)

Edie,

It sounds like you had a fantastic trip.

We are considering booking an Illuminations cruise for our trip next year. Did you request which boat you went on..I read on another thread that someone else really enjoyed the 'Breathless'

Why is it so special??
