A big thanks to all the DLR vets who gave me advice before our trip. We spent 38 hours in the parks over 3 days and had a wonderful time. My DD8 rode ToT for the first time and couldn't get enough. My DD6 rode Splash for the first time and rode it 4 times. We waited in line for RSR for 15 minutes! No early entry or anything; just being there when the park opened. It was an amazing ride! Hands down everyone's favorite. We were never too hot or too cold. We got to see all the nighttime shows, including good spots for WoC and F!. We ate way less than I was expecting (we were too busy), but we enjoyed the food we had. We met several characters we hadn't met before (Rapunzel, Merida, Dug, and Duffy). We used ART or walked (depending on how tired we were) with great success form the Anaheim Hilton. We couldn't have done it without your input. If anyone has questions, please let me know. Thanks again. We will have to factor trips to the west coast in, in between our trips to Florida from now on.:thumbsup2

Glad you had fun!

Did you ride RSR in the single line or FP or reg line? And also what day of the week was it? Trying to plan for us not having EE when we go in a few weeks.

We did RSR on Tuesday morning (7/3). We didn't have EE or do FP or single rider. We got to CA at about 7:40 am for an 8:00 open. They were already allowing people through the turnstiles and holding them on Buena Vista Street. At 8:00 they started walking the rope toward Cars Land. Tomater and Lightning McQueen led the procession as we all trooped toward RSR. When we got down the street in Radiator Springs, they funneled everyone into the main line. So really, we waited 20 minutes for the park to open and 15 minutes in the line. The only annoying thing was the people that kept excusing themselves to get in front of us in line to join the rest of their party (this was once we got in the actual line, not the mob waiting for the park to open). I bet 10 people scooted ahead of us while we were waiting. I can see why one would want to wait in the FP line so you could ride twice, but we knew it would be hard to stay as late as we would have needed to in order to ride again. We were prepared for a much longer wait. What a pleasant surprise!

Where did you watch Fantasmic? We've been 3 times, and plan on for sure watching it this year!

We did F! on Monday night. We were going to do the 9:00 show, but when we got to Rivers of America at 8:00, the good seats were already completely filled. We spent the next 2 hours doing things like Storybook Canal Boats, IASW, and PotC. After the fireworks (around 10 pm), we got a spot right across from the entrance to PotC at the rail by the River. We did not get wet. We did not even have to stand up. It was very relaxing. Of course, my 6yo slept through the whole thing, but she is not a huge F! fan anyway. (She doesn't like things that are too loud.)

Gets you doesn't it!?!:rotfl: We now alternate between coasts, which works out okay as we are pretty much in the middle of the U.S. I still call myself a WDW vet. I figure even though we have been to DL every year for the last 3 years (and one trip not too long before that), I can't really claim to be a DL vet as I have nothing on all those AP holders who are there about once a week!

We're right in the middle too. RSR hooked my DD6 like nothing I've ever seen. She hated Test Track when we rode it in November, but loved every minute of RSR. Now she wants to go there instead of WDW in Feb. lol

Good to know! My DD (6) hates Test Track too. She agreed to ride RSR next time we go to DL only because I promised her it did not have "hot" and "cold" rooms. Glad to hear there is hope she might love RSR!
