I just wanted to quickly post a thank you for your kind thoughts, words, and condolonces. Moms passing was extremely a shock and things just happened so extremely quick that I think my head is still spinning regarding it all.
I feel so very bad for my brother - she got very weak on Sunday afternoon and he didn't know what do and he wasn't able to make it in time yesterday...
After talking with many family friends last night and finding out things my mom said to them the past couple of days, as soon as she started really feeling icky, I truly believe she knew something was not right!!! And as awful as this could sound...I am so very glad she went this way rather than the cancer getting her and taking it's slow time...her oncologist was at the hospital and was part of the team of doctors that was working on her and I am so extremely very grateful for that...he was there to tell me what was happening and came and told me she had passed...and he told me - "For whatever consolation this may be, she did not feel any pain - it happened so fast that she didn't feel anything."
That truly truly helped me a great deal....because I know how labored her breathing had gotten when I left the hospital before heading to the hospital in Rockford, before she boarded the helicopter.....
Thank you again...a tough road is ahead for the next couple of days and weeks....
