I just wanted to say what a great board this is. Relatively speaking my condition is minor. But, noone has made me feel like my questions or remarks are less important or irrelevant than anyone elses. I've had a tough time dealing with being "disabled" and had some silly questions and some melt downs, but everyone here has been so understanding, I even recieved some pm's that helped so very much. SO a great big thank you to everyone. Also, thanks to anyone who remembers this board in your prayers, wishes, positive thoughts, what ever method you use to remember & wish well for others. And please know, my disboard friends are always remembered in my prayers.

With gratitude,
Dee

How sweet!,:flower3:

The only silly question around here is the one that is not asked. You never know if the question you ask is one that others wanted to ask, but for whatever reason were afraid to.

We are all in this boat together no matter what our issues, so it just makes sense to help each other grow and accept our differences in our lives.

Keep being strong and know that no matter what that someone is there who will help.

Thank you for posting this.

In what I call 'another lifetime', I did a lot of answering of phone calls as a nurse in a Public Health agency. Many of the questions started as "This is really a dumb question, but ................."

I always told people that the only dumb question was the one that was not asked. In truth, some of the questions that started out as self-proclaimed 'dumb questions' were the most interesting ones.

And, as peemagg mentions, often the question one person asks is often just the question that someone else wanted to ask, but didn't.

Every question is valid. As is every disabilty we are all dealing with. None is small because it belongs to us. Don't consider it minor. If it was it wouldn't be there to begin with. It wouldn't have a name. It is through talking about it and sharing that teaches us how to deal with it and come to some understanding of ourselves and others. I used to wonder what I was going to be someday. I no longer wonder. It is to be a parent to my children and to advocate for the two with special issues along with others with disabilties. When others ask how do we do it we answer: we just do it. Now that I have gotten the preachyness out of my system just know that my prayers and thoughts are always with all of you on this board.

You know, this is always true. In my other work lives I did tech support for a credit card company and did triage work for a "call a nurse" hotline to help get people to the right nurses and I always remember the nicest people feeling they were at fault for having a specific question and I always tried to assure them its best to just give it a shot because for everyone one person that doesn't ask something, another 10 will jump ahead and ask theirs. Everyone deserves their chance to be heard is my moral to that story.

Yes this board is a great source of information, inspiration and comfort to many.
