Hi, all.

I just wanted to post a big and general 'THANK YOU!' to all of you for your help. All the information and tips I got were great and used to much effect on our very first trip to SoCal and DL.

Special thanks to Grumpyvet, Hound109 and Hydroguy (your tips are awesome)!!! :thumbsup2

Without you all, we wouldn't have been able to:
- Do FantasyLand on EE with such great results
- Get my son picked for the Jedi Training Academy to fight Darth Vader - he loves to tell people how he's a Jedi Knight ;)
- Get selected as the Toontown Honorary Family of the day
- Ride all the rides we wanted to, multiple times, with no wait longer than 10-15 minutes MAXIMUM - most were a 5 minute wait or walkon!
- Too many other things to list, but all adding up to...
- An absolutely fabulous trip that was relaxing and fun!

Thanks! :yay:

There's a tip on how to be the Honorary family? Do share?
I feel like I can miss out on things like that being a "single mom". We don't look like that "typical family".

Thanks for posting. :goodvibes

& your DS is our newest Jedi Warrior!! :woohoo:

(those Darths have been taking a real beating lately....:rotfl: )

Glad you had a great time. :thumbsup2

My time in the sun with the LegoLand coupons is over. They all expired Dec. 31!!!
BUt thanks for the shout-out!!! I am glad I could help!!!! Amy

It was really very easy to get picked to be the Honorary Family. We just had to be the very first family into Toontown! ;)

We do look like a "traditional" family, with me, DH, DS4 and a baby on the way, so I don't know if that made a difference or not. I wouldn't think so as there are many single moms and dads out with their kids and I would be very surprised if Disney differentiates based on that.

We arrived that morning just before opening and were lucky that they had just opened another line when we got there. We were the second ones in our line at the gate and first of a couple dozen into the park. While everyone made a beeline for Nemo, we just kept walking towards IASM and the Toontown gates. We got there and a CM was out front. We gave her our Toontown Madness tickets and went in.

It was pretty obvious we were the first ones in there. We were greeted by Chip and Dale and two CMs. After some pictures and playing around with our DS4, the CM asked if we would be the Honorary Family of the day. They took our name and said to come back right before the ceremony to our reserved seats.

DH and DS4 rode GGC twice and it was time for the ceremony. We went to our seats at the front and watched Mayor Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, and Chip and Dale dance and play around. Then they had us stand up; there was a brief speech and they gave us a scroll announcing us to be the Toontown Honorary Family of the day. The CM took our camera and took a ton of pictures for us during that whole time. She also took us around after the performance and we got to spend some time with all of the characters and get pictures, with no waiting in line. :thumbsup2

It was fun and we have a souvenir scroll and pictures from the whole event!
